In September, our SAFY of Kentucky team experienced the loss of one of our long time and beloved team members: our Bowling Green Divisional Office Manager, Robbi Taber. Robbi's team recently shared a tribute to her at our company wide Town Hall that we'd like to share to celebrate Robbi's life and legacy:
Robbi dedicated 11 years of her life to SAFY and was part of the Bowling Green division from its very beginning. Over those years, she became so much more than our DOM, she became part of the foundation of this division.
Robbi was the person who showed up.
She supported staff through some of their hardest moments, celebrated their accomplishments, encouraged them as they grew, and reminded people of their value when they may not have seen it in themselves. She cared about the people around her in a way that went far beyond her job description.
And her impact was not limited to our staff. Robbi touched the lives of foster parents, youth, families, community partners, and so many others throughout her years with SAFY. She helped create the kind of environment where people felt welcomed, supported, and cared for.
Since her passing, we have heard story after story from people whose lives were impacted by Robbi. Different people, different moments, but the same theme continues to come through: Robbi was there.
She was there when someone needed encouragement.
She was there when someone needed help.
She was there to celebrate the good moments and to sit beside people through the difficult ones.
She believed deeply in the Bowling Green division and in the people who make up this team. She was proud of how much this division has grown, and she never hesitated to remind others that the work happening here mattered.
SAFY’s mission is about preserving families and securing futures, and Robbi lived that mission in a way that extended far beyond the work itself. She invested in people. She built relationships. She loved people well.
Her legacy lives on in the division she helped build, in the staff she supported, in the families she served, and in every person who is better because they had the opportunity to know her.
As we continue the work that Robbi cared so deeply about, we hope to carry some of her with us by continuing to show up for one another, celebrate one another, support one another through the hard days, and never underestimate the impact we can have on someone else’s life.
Robbi will be deeply missed, but what she gave to SAFY, to Bowling Green, and to each of us will not be forgotten.
