te. Students who get involved can gain experience in leadership, advocacy, public speaking, teamwork, event planning – all while improving your school. Student members who are seniors at MHS are eligible to apply for local and NYS PTA scholarships. If Parents Do Not Go in 7-12 Classrooms, why should I join? Massapequa Jr/Sr PTSA has been proactive advocates in matters of local, state and national issues impacting youth and families. PTSA is represented on many community and district committees. If I join Jr/Sr PTSA, do I have to volunteer? As much as Massapequa Jr/Sr PTSA welcomes all members to be active, it is not a requirement. Purchasing a membership for each individual family member builds our advocacy voice and provides additional funds to support efforts. If I am a member of another unit, aren’t I a member of the PTSA? Each unit is its own non-profit organization and has its own bylaws and procedures.
