Arisia’s 20th Anniversary Blood Drive a Success!

Thank you, Arisians! Once again you’ve given the gift of life for patients in need! 54 of you presented as donor candidates, 42 successfully donating units that will save lives! Thank you on behalf of the patients, the Massachusetts General Hospital staff, and the Heinlein Society and all our volunteers. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!

It was in the mid 80’s at the Watch City Steampunk Festival™ 2023 and the green was hopping with activity. The Naughty Nurses of Arisia didn’t have a bloodmobile this year so we held it at First Parish of Waltham about a block away from the square.

There were 17 presenting donor candidates, 10 in the last hour, donated 23 units, 12 from 6 power red donors, 11 whole blood. An additional 6 candidates were deferred.
