April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
At least 1 in 7 children in the U.S. have experienced child abuse or neglect in the past year. These children need stable, nurturing relationships to help them heal and thrive. Virginia's CASA programs play a crucial role in advocating for these children, ensuring they have the support and resources they need.

Every child deserves someone in their corner. đź’™
Right now, there are children walking into courtrooms feeling scared, confused, and alone. That’s where CASA volunteers step in.
By becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), you can be the consistent, caring adult who speaks up for a child’s best interests in court. You don’t have to be a lawyer — just someone willing to listen, show up, and stand up.
Through organizations like Focus on Youth CASA, volunteers are trained and supported every step of the way. And if volunteering isn’t possible, your donation helps provide training, resources, and advocacy for children who need it most.
One caring adult can change a child’s story.
Be that difference.

👨‍⚖️ Virginia's judges rely on local CASA programs to ensure children in abuse and neglect cases have a dedicated Advocate in court.👩‍⚖️

❗Yet, since 2008, Virginia CASA’s state funding has remained flat, even as the child welfare system faces increased strain and an increasing number of children need advocacy. Statewide, 3,400 children went without a CASA advocate last year due to limited capacity. ❗

A bipartisan budget amendment would update CASA funding to ensure EVERY child has a voice in court... and in life.
