The MCLA Leadership Team is thrilled to announce that we have been chosen to receive a Community Impact Grant from the Community Foundation of Morgan County.

These grant funds will allow us to expand our youth program from a one-day summit into The Student Leadership Academy (TSLA), a multi-month experience that will include an Opening Retreat, monthly leadership activities, mentoring and coaching from community leaders, and a final summit and graduation.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this gift possible and for choosing MCLA and Morgan County's youth as recipients!

MCLA isn't only about learning. It's about doing.

Every MCLA class takes what they've learned and works together to complete a project designed to make Morgan County better.

The project may support a local organization, raise awareness about an important issue, improve a community system or meet another identified need.

The class determines the direction—and then works together to make it happen.

At September graduation, participants don't just receive their diplomas. They get to share what they accomplished together.

Learn. Lead. Serve.

That's what Morgan County Leadership Academy is all about.

Thinking about applying for MCLA? Here's what you're committing to.

The Class of 2027 begins with a mandatory Opening Retreat on January 14, followed by sessions on the second Thursday of each month through September, generally from 8 AM–5 PM.

Participants are expected to attend at least six of the remaining eight sessions and participate in the class community project.

Yes, it's a commitment.

And that's intentional.

Meaningful leadership development takes more than a lunch meeting or a two-hour workshop. MCLA gives participants nine months to learn, build relationships, challenge themselves and discover Morgan County.

If you're ready to make the commitment, we're ready for you.

Applications due October 1.
