“Coach, does my kid have talent?”

Wrong question.

Talent gets way too much credit.

I’ve seen “talented” kids quit.
I’ve seen “gifted” kids get passed up.
I’ve seen average players become stars because they mastered the things nobody posts on social media.

✅ Showing up when they don’t feel like it.
✅ Listening to coaching.
✅ Falling in love with the process.
✅ Building habits when nobody is watching.
✅ Staying consistent long after motivation disappears.

The parents who win don’t obsess over talent.

They build an environment where effort, discipline, accountability, and confidence can grow.

Because talent might open a door…

But character, habits, and time determine how long that door stays open.

Stop asking if your child is talented.

Start asking:

“Are they becoming the type of person who can maximize their potential?”

That’s the conversation that changes everything.

👇 Drop “DEVELOP” in the comments if you’re committed to long-term growth over short-term hype.

📌 Save this for the next time youth sports culture tries to convince you talent is everything.

🔁 Share this with a parent who needs to hear it.

They said putting your kid around elite players would magically make them elite too…🤣🤣🤣

NOPE!!!

If your child can’t handle pressure, think the game, communicate, compete, and produce WITHOUT the ball… they’ll just become a spectator with good seats.

Talent gets exposed around talent.
Habits get exposed around habits.
And excuses get exposed FAST.

Stop chasing logos, rankings, and hype.
Start chasing DEVELOPMENT.

Iron sharpens iron…
but only if the iron is willing to get HOT. 🔥

Most parents want shortcuts.
The best parents choose growth. 💯

If this stepped on toes, good. Somebody needed to hear it.

👇🏾COMMENT “DEVELOPMENT” if you want your child trained the RIGHT way.
📩 DM me “WORK” for serious player development.
📌 SAVE this for every parent obsessed with exposure before skill.
