Had a great event for cycling! It was a little chilly, but the kids had fun. It was a well run Special Olympics event.  Thank you to all of the athletes, unified partners, parents, and volunteers that helped make the day a success!

Thank you to all of those who took the plunge, contributed, or worked behind the scenes. I don’t have a total yet but know it was over $6,500. Thank you to all that support the program. This money helps keep our program going and allowing us to purchase equipment for our athletes!

Marshalltown School Special Olympics is hosting our second annual Polar Plunge with Special Olympics Iowa on Friday May 1, 2026 at 1:30 PM.

Funds raised last year allowed us to purchase a unified tandem bike for athletes and peer partners, additional adaptive bikes, a switch-activated bowling ramp, and adaptive life jackets. Your support helps us continue offering opportunities like bowling, swimming, skiing, and expand our adaptive cycling equipment.

We are encouraging local businesses and leaders to create their own personal or community team and plunge with us. Employees raising money to “toss your boss” into the frigid water is also an option! Don’t want to plunge? You also have the option to make a general donation to our cause/donate to one of the students who is registered to plunge. You can also help us out by sharing this post to get the word out or tagging a local business or leader that you’d like to see take the plunge!

Great turn out for the track meet in Grinnell on Saturday! 24 of Marshalltown kids are heading to state!

A reminder that the Polar Plunge is fast approaching! If you are registered you need to have raised a minimum of $25 to take the plunge! 🧊 Students at other schools wanting to participate will be bussed to Lenihan the day of the plunge. Don’t want to plunge but you want to support our group? Feel free to donate to one of the students or athletes who have not yet reached their fundraising goal.
