Fellow Rotarian Eric Wallen hosted our program today. We had the opportunity to hear from Sergeant Adam Connor of the Brown, Lyon, Renville & Redwood Emergency Response Unit (ERU). Sergeant Connor has served in law enforcement for 20 years; for the past 13 years, he has been a member of the ERU and has led the unit as commander for the last 3.

He shared that the ERU is “the 911 when 911 needs 911,” a powerful reminder of the critical role they play. The unit is made up of 21 members, including 5 negotiators, and they train regularly at Camp Ripley to stay prepared with equipment and response scenarios.

Covering an impressive 31,000 square miles, these counties are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and highly trained team working to keep our communities safe. (Be sure to check out photo #2 for some of the critical incidents they may respond to).
Thank you, Sergeant Connor, for taking the time to share your experience and for all you all do to serve and protect.

The Marshall Noon Rotary Club welcomed Becci & Taylor from W.R.A.P. — Women’s Rural Advocacy Program — as Tuesday’s meeting program.
W.R.A.P. provides free and confidential services for individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking/exploitation, and high-risk youth in Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, and Yellow Medicine Counties.
They offer many important resources, including housing assistance, emergency transportation, information and referrals, safety planning, a 24-hour crisis line, and so much more.
What began with just 3 staff members has grown to 10 — soon to be 11 — employees. We also learned that W.R.A.P. served 979 people last year. We are so fortunate to have this incredible program serving our area.
They are always looking for volunteers for many tasks. If you have time, reach out to them.

The Marshall Noon Rotary Club had a great meeting today! Our Student Rotarians led the meeting and treated us to a delicious lunch…with dessert! See videos from today.
We had some fun with multiple-choice trivia about the city of Marshall—most answers were (B) (except for one proud mom 😊). We also heard recaps of all the activities the students have been involved in throughout high school, along with their future plans.
Our program featured Becki & Taylor from W.R.A.P., and ended the meeting with the 4-Way Test.
What a bright, impressive group of students we have this year! We’ve truly enjoyed getting to know them and learning more about their journeys. We also appreciate the help they have given us at many events (duck races, Earth Day river clean-up, both ditch clean up days are just a few of the events they have helped us with).

Marshall Noon Rotary wishes everyone a very Happy Earth Day! 🌎
Rotarian Anderson-Mueller organized a fantastic Redwood River cleanup day!
We had a great group of volunteers come together—including fellow Rotarians, student Rotarians, college professors, and college students—all working hard to clean up the Redwood River and its banks.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this such a meaningful way to care for our environment. If you have the time, consider getting outside and doing your part to help keep our Earth beautiful!

The Marshall Noon Rotary made the paper today!!
We absolutely loved volunteering for Help Tuck Them In sand and stain enough wood to make 75 beds for those in need.
Check out the information in the article. Such a great organization.

It all started out as a project to help provide beds for area children without a place to sleep. Over the past three years, the Help Tuck Them In program has grown – and the nonprofit is getting some regional recognition. This week, Lyon-Lincoln Electric Cooperative announced that Help Tuck Them I...

Fellow Rotarian, Jackson Bladholm invited Derek Deutz from Columbia Imports to speak at our meeting. Derek told us about how he cam up with the idea of staring this company, how he uses many local products, as well as products from over seas. His furthest product comes from Sri Lanka, a popular tea. He also shared his vision about turning his building into a "bistro" with seating & serve coffee, tea, meats as well as a variety products he sells. He also has a VRBO upstairs, with beautiful views. If you haven't stopped in, check it out. Thanks Derek!

Yesterday at Marshall Noon Rotary, we welcomed two students, Anna and Andrew. Anna shared about her family and gave us a glimpse into her high school years. Andrew spoke about his time at MHS and how his experiences there helped shape who he is today.

We always enjoy hearing from our up-and-coming youth and learning more about our Student Rotarians. Thank you, Anna and Andrew, for spending time with us and sharing your stories!

☀️☀️ Spotlight: Marshall Noon Rotary Club welcomed guest speakers Fink and Grady Holtberg, sponsored by Molly McGowan Archbold.
Alex is a coach for the SMSU Rugby team, and Grady serves as both an assistant coach at SMSU and the head coach for the high school rugby team.

They shared a brief history of rugby, highlighted the growth of the sport at SMSU and in our local high school, introduced a few key terms, and even demonstrated some game moves - see photos.

It’s always a treat to learn more about what’s happening in our community! Thank you, Alex and Grady, for the great presentation—we’re looking forward to coming out and cheering on your teams! 🏉👏

🛏️ Service Above Self in action! 🛏️
Marshall Noon Rotary members recently had the opportunity to volunteer with Help Tuck Them In — an incredible organization providing beds to children and families in need.
Our crew rolled up their sleeves and got to work sanding and staining boards for 72 beds… and had a blast doing it! 💪🎨
What a fun, hardworking, and welcoming group to partner with. Their generosity and mission truly make a difference in our community. ❤️
We highly encourage others to get involved — you won’t regret it!
