WNC Find the Helpers

WNC Find the Helpers Find the Helpers has 2 goals: 1) Honor front line workers and volunteers 2) Raise funds to help victims of Helene. I am a born and raised WNC native.

I will also be sharing ways to help here as well. I have been here my whole life and this is my community. After Helene I wanted to find a way to help other and to thank those that were helping. I want to give back to the people who have lost the most and those who have given the most. So far I have been giving from my own pocket, but I am one person. So I have paired up with an amazing company (W

ristband Bros) to try and raise funds and recognize the volunteers. The WNC Strong wristband will be given out to those who have been changing lives since the Hurricane. Linemen, volunteers, police, fire and more. Anywhere we can travel we will be "Looking for the Helpers" to say a small thank you to. But anyone can be a helper. We have been blessed with extras of this wristband and everyone can wear it and show their support for our area! It is $4 and the link can be found on this page. 100% of the funds will go directly to Hurricane victims to help them rebuild their lives. So when people see these bands out in our community they will know who the Helpers are!!!! This storm has shown the amazing nature of our people and those around us! The helpers are here!!! I hope to also post some amazing opportunities to help in the community.

Bald Creek Relief is closed to the public Wednesday and Thursday!

We need time to regroup and also try to give our kids a little “normal” Halloween activity.
We will be open Friday and Saturday for volunteers 9am to 5pm and shopping hours will be 10am to 2pm both days. We will be closed Sunday. Our hours for next week will be changing.

NC Realtors® is making $625,000 in grants available for Western North Carolina homeowners impacted by Hurricane Helene, with $1,000 available for each qualifying household.

The NC REALTORS® Disaster Relief fund is getting $500,000 from the Realtors® Relief Foundation and $125,000 from the NC Realtors® Housing Foundation.

One application is allowed per household. Also, applicants will need to supply identification, proof of ownership or a mortgage, and photo evidence of damage.

Applications are now being taken, and we encourage LOTSAR members to inform impacted community members about the fund.

LOTSAR volunteers will be at the LOTSAR office (21 Restaurant Court, Asheville) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30 to help members or applicants with filling out applications, or to answer questions.

I know that so many in the community want to support the families impacted by Helene so we are selling the WNC Strong wristbands ($4) to help raise funds for those impacted. 100% of funds will go to victims. Thanks to a generous donation by Wristband Bros. If you would like a wrist band, locally they will be in store at The Quill and Honey in Mars Hill.
