Early identification of reading difficulties and evidence based intervention is essential.

There is a myth that those with dyslexia can’t be taught to read.

This is not true.
Every child can be taught to read (including those of us with dyslexia) if they’re taught using evidence based, structured literacy programs aligned to the science of reading consistently.

BUT, (there’s always a but), we need to identify dyslexia as early as possible.

It takes four times longer to intervene in 4th grade than in 1st grade.

The longer we wait to identify a child that struggles to read, the more intervention, time, money and remediation is needed, not to mention the impact that waiting may have on our self esteem and mental health.

Don’t leave reading to chance!
Early support changes EVERYTHING!
