Come with me to our 4th annual Breakthrough T1D Pittsburgh Summit at the RLA Learning Center and it was phenomenal!
Antoine Gibson, our keynote speaker, saxophonist and music composer opened with a great Q&A. I attended the Clinical Trial breakout group led by Dr Gina Leckie and I completely was nerding out because there is a trial currently using Ruxience and Abatacept that I have used FREQUENTLY in my career and it made all my neurons fire with questions on the dosing, mechanisms, side effects profiles on how to minimize the hematoligical side effects, and so much more!
And of course this year again, I was at our Community Engagement table for our T1D hub! This is my FAAAAAAVORITE activity we have done since our 1st summit. As a T1D and family member, it can feel lonely and isolating, but with our activity every can see that they belong and have others in the community who are just like them and understand! Not only do the kids and adults see what make them unique, but also how they are no alone 💙
Thank you to EVERYONE at Breakthrough T1D staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event so remarkable and so much fun this year! Thank you to everyone who came out and spent the afternoon with us and can’t wait to see you next year!
