🌟 SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Gloria Montaño Greene is the Deputy Under Secretary for USDA’s Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) mission area. She leads agencies that deliver farm programs and services to farmers, ranchers and agricultural producers.

Montaño Greene is a former State Executive Director for the Farm Service Agency in Arizona from 2014-2017, a position she was appointed to by President Obama, where she led the implementation of the 2013 Farm Bill programs across the state.

She also served as Deputy Director for Chispa Arizona, a program of the League of Conservation Voters focused on empowering Latino voices in Arizona on issues including energy, public lands and democracy access.

💚Gloria Montaño Greene will share her story at breakfast with Patrice Bailey introducing her. Then, we invite farmers to have breakfast with her for the remainder of the breakfast time.💚

We welcome back Oogie Push as the emcee for the 18th Annual Emerging Farmers Conference! 😌

Oogie Push is from the Meskwaki Nation near Tama, IA. She is currently living and creating on Dakota Territory, also known as the Twin Cities. She is a stage actor, storyteller, dancer and Meskwaki h**p twine bag weaver.

She works as a Production Assistant on local film and commercial sets and most recently produced, directed and edited her first documentary, "Tama Flint: A Meskwaki Tradition." The documentary highlights the Meskwaki Tribe's traditional corn called Tama Flint and provides historical context, cultural teachings and modern stories.

Oogie has been the emcee for the Emerging Farmers Conference for the past few years and is thankful to be returning for this year's conference. 💛

We're humbled to share that Angela Dawson is the keynote speaker at the 18th Annual Emerging Farmers Conference! 🌱 Ms. Dawson is a fourth-generation farmer from the Upper Midwest and a first generation college graduate. Over her career she has developed alternative economic and community development models through the lens of wellness, equity, inclusion and environmental sustainability.

Dawson is most known for her work in agriculture, advocating for socially disadvantaged farmers as President of the Forty Acre Co-op.
