Ladies and Gentlemen, this list is the most updated list as of June 23rd, 2015.
The City of Marengo's annual 3rd of July Independence Day celebration is scheduled for Friday July 3rd, 2015. The current list of events include, but are not limited too:
Marengo Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast @ the American Legion 7:00am-10:00am, all proceeds go towards the betterment of children in the local community as well as scholarships for graduating seniors.
Iowa Valley Fine Arts Booster 5K Fun Run/Walk, begin at the IV High School. Registration at 6:00am-6:45am, start time is 7:00am. Please contact Kari at 319-361-5611.
The Car Show will be held at the IV Elementery School parking lot from 8:00am to 3:00pm
Horse-shoe tournament, beginning at 8:45am at the Horse Shoe pit next to the IV Elementery School, Ron Stanerson is the Point of contact, $15.00 entry fee for registered participants, only $10.00 regisration fee is the pitchers are dressed in all white.
The Bike Rodeo, hosted by the Marengo Police Department and sponsored by the Marengo Memorial Hospital will be held in the parking lot behind the Public Library at 9:00am-10:30am, this will be a fun activity for children of all ages learning about bike safety and going through the obstacle course. Bike helmets will be required and will be availble for all children without a helmet. More information to follow, POC is Chief Galen Moser.
There is a Hoops Tourney that will be located in the Iowa Valley High School Gym, registration begins at 9:15am and the start time is 10:00am.
The Youth Triathalon will be held in front of the Marengo Pool on Franklyn Street from 10:30am-11:45am.
The Marengo Pool will open at 12:00pm that day, free of charge. Hours of operation will be posted.
Many of the Vendors will begin setting up between 11:00am and 12:00pm in the Marengo City Park. Fun games and activities, including but not limited too HipHop Hannah face painting, Kingdom Klown Balloons, pony rides, inflatables, as well as kids relays and other activities will be available from noon going throughout the rest of the day.
A Bean Bag Tourney will start at 2:00pm in front of Beer 30, Nathan Von Lienen is the POC.
At 4:30, "The Quiz Show" will be on the bandstand, featuring Stumpy Kinzenbaw and some of Marengo's finest. Come on down for this entertaining little show.
Leanne's Dance Students will take the stage on the bandstand at 5:00pm.
The Parade Line up begins at 6:00pm, with a 6:30 start time.
There will be a movie in the park at (dusk) 8:30pm-10:00pm, sponsored by the Marengo Public Library.
Fireworks begin at 10:00am
Street Dance hosted by Phools Gold will begin after the fireworks featuring the Band "8 Seconds".
