SUMMER CAMP ALERT

Paws, Hands & Hooves has been developing a few summer camps and we’d like your input!

If you would be interested in any of the following summer camps, shoot me a DM and let me know which ones and if you would prefer a morning (I.e. 9-11) mid day (I.e 1-3) or evening (I.e 4-6). These camps would be offered one day a week for 6 weeks . Cost for all 6 weeks $150.

Days will be set as soon as we know what interest will be.

1. Little Hooves Writer’s Workshop
Ages 8-14
We’ll work on the entire writing process from sharpening spelling skills, sentence and structure writing, poetry and story writing.

2. The Reading Ranch
One group ages 5 - 8
One group ages 9-14
We will build phonological awareness (younger group), phonics and fluency skills as well as comprehension.

3. Pony Power Skills Camp
Ages 8-14
The focus will be on executive function skills

We’ve had a lot of unexpected visitors over the years; pea hens, guinea foul, craw daddy’s (or mini lobsters as some might call them), white deer, snakes, & snapping turtles. But in a time where I have been reflecting on our purpose and our mission and where the news is filled with nothing but tragedy and devastation, a very special visitor showed up this morning. A visitor clearly sent by the angel that is watching over us. A visitor that solidifies that we do have purpose here and our unicorns have a clear mission to teach and to heal those who choose to be a part of this wonderful organization.

To all of our visitors, participants, supporters, pony professors / unicorns, and most importantly our employees and volunteers, you are all unicorns and we wouldn’t be here doing what we do without all of you.

Summer is here and we are so excited for our new summer programs.

1) We are offering a 5 day Pony Pals Camp each month where kids will learn all about the care of horses (and other farm animals) and have daily social skills lessons and activities with the pony professors. See flier for details. We still have room in our June session.

2) We are expanding our program from ground work to mounted lessons where students can learn, practice or excel in reading, math, and social skills. More information coming soon. Send a message or email if you are interested in being the first to receive the information.

We had a super fun field trip for 1st graders on Friday! The kids practiced the phonics, writing and math skills they are learning at school with our Pony Professors, they got to learn about and play with the goats, baby Pig Squeaks and the fabulous draft horse Tiara. The field trip ended with lunch and reading books to the horses. Fun for the kids, adults AND animals.
