5/22 UPDATE! We raised $800 of this need and worked with the referring agencies to help this family! Thank you to all that donated and prayed!

We have a local family in need. ❤️

This family has two special needs children and has been making frequent trips to St. Louis for medical care for their infant child. While they have stayed current on their rent, the constant travel and medical-related expenses have put them in a very difficult financial position.

At this time, they are struggling with gas, groceries, and are on the verge of losing their vehicle to repossession. The husband is employed and the family is doing everything they can to stay afloat during this challenging season.

Approximately $1,000 would help them catch up on their car payment and provide groceries and gas while they continue caring for their children.

If you are able to contribute you can drop money at Old Lutesville Emporium (cash or check), Peoples Community Bank ask them to deposit it in the BoCo Neighbors Account, PayPal BoCo Neighbors (https://www.paypal.biz/BoCoChamber) or you can Venmo Becky (https://venmo.com/u/Becky-Wiginton-1).

Please keep them in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time. ❤️

2/16 at 9:15pm - This Need is MET! Thank you everyone!

2/16 UPDATE! We still need $188 to meet this need! We are hoping to have this elderly community member hot water by the weekend!

💛 BoCo Neighbors Community Request 💛

We have an elderly member of our community whose hot water heater has unexpectedly stopped working. At this time, she is having to boil water for bathing and other daily needs.

The total cost to replace the heater is $450, and we would love to come together as a community to help meet this need quickly and quietly.

If you feel led to give, you may donate in any of the following ways:

✅ PayPal: BoCo Neighbors
https://www.paypal.biz/BoCoChamber

✅ Venmo:
https://venmo.com/u/Becky-Wiginton-1

✅ In Person:
Drop off a donation at Peoples Community Bank and let them know it is for the BoCo Neighbors account.

BoCo Neighbors will ensure the provider is paid directly.

Every dollar makes a difference, and together we can make sure our neighbor has safe, reliable hot water again. Thank you for always showing up for our community. 💛

This need is met!!!

We have a young local mom who has just started a new job. Unfortunately, she will not receive her first paycheck until the 29th, but her car payment is due on the 28th.

If the $260 payment is not made on time, her vehicle will be repossessed — which would leave her without transportation to get back and forth to work or care for her children.

We are urgently asking for community support to help her make this one-time payment and keep her car.

If you are able to contribute, payments can be made in the following ways:

✅ Pay directly (message us for provider details)
✅ PayPal: BoCo Neighbors
https://www.paypal.biz/BoCoChamber
✅ Venmo:
https://venmo.com/u/Becky-Wiginton-1
✅ Drop off a donation at Peoples Community Bank
Tell them it is for the BoCo Neighbors account — and we will pay the provider directly.

Every dollar helps, and even small contributions add up quickly. Thank you for supporting a hardworking mom in our community during this critical moment. ❤️

Friends, we need to address an issue we’ve been encountering lately and ask for your help moving forward.

When a community need arises, it takes some time to evaluate the need, determine if there are already resources readily available, and put the need out to the community for help. Lately we’ve had an influx of neighbors that are beyond their last notice when they reach out; whether it be utilities, rent/mortgage, etc.

Although we try to coordinate help for as many as possible, it is becoming impossible to intervene in enough time to be useful to our neighbors. We understand and appreciate that these neighbors are trying everything possible before asking for help, but it is tying our hands.

Please, if you find yourself in a situation where you believe you will need the help of BoCo Neighbors, reach out early and we will search for all possible solutions together. There is a list of available resources in the comments.

INFORMATIONAL POST ONLY —

As the weather is turning bitter cold, plus forecasted large amounts of snow and possible ice, we know some of our neighbors may find themselves in a situation of needing help.

We have learned that First Baptist Church in Marble Hill has been in communication with SEMA about offering their Family Life Center as a warming center, should the need arise. Although we caution everyone to get prepared today and stay put when the weather starts, that isn’t always an option. If SEMA, the city officially or the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Department officially declare an emergency, the First Baptist Life Center will open for the community. Please watch this page, the sheriffs dept page, the city official page and those from the church for more information if that need arises.

Another great alternative is to check with your local churches, near your location, as some may be available in the event of a larger disaster. Again, we do encourage everyone to get prepared and stay put as a main course of action.

**this is an information post only and will not be used to discredit any churches, businesses or government entities**

If we learned of churches opening we will comment on this post.

Good Morning, Community ❤️

BoCo Neighbors has received three requests for assistance. Each situation is unique, and for this round we are asking that any help be paid directly to the service or account in need rather than through us.

If you are able and willing to help, please message BoCo Neighbors and we will provide the account numbers and payment locations.

Need #1: Young Mom & Children

A young mother recently experienced a medical issue that limited her ability to work. Her church has already assisted with her electric bill, but she still needs help with the following:
• AT&T Phone: $611.55
• Southern Solid Waste (Trash): $160.00
• Freedom Storage: $235.00
• Pet food (dog & cat)

If you can help with any portion of this need, please message our page and we will share the account details for direct payment.

Need #2: Family Relocating Unexpectedly

This family had to relocate suddenly and needs assistance with utility hook-up fees for their new apartment:
• Water
• Electric

We are currently waiting on the exact totals. If you are interested in helping, please message BoCo Neighbors and we will follow up with account information as soon as it is available.

Need #3: Working Mom with 3 Young Children

This mom is currently working, but her hours were recently reduced. She has fallen behind on bills and had her water turned off this week.
• City of Marble Hill Water Bill: $556 (December unpaid + January past due)
• Past-due Rent: $700 (one month behind)

If you are able to help with either bill, please message BoCo Neighbors for direct payment information.

Every act of kindness—big or small—makes a difference. Thank you for continuing to show up for our neighbors and for being such a caring community. ❤️

We are $200 away from meeting this need! We hope to have them relocated and stable this weekend! https://m.facebook.co...
