🎃🐷 HELP US STOCK UP ON PUMPKIN BEFORE THE HOLIDAY RUSH! 🐷🎃

We use 100% pure canned pumpkin year-round for our pigs, including for medications, extra fiber, upset stomachs, and other care needs. With 690+ pigs, we can go through quite a bit! Right now, pumpkin is plentiful, but we’re quickly approaching the holiday season when everyone starts stocking up for baking, etc. and canned pumpkin becomes harder to find or starts disappearing from store shelves. We want to stock our pantry NOW while we can! 🎃

🐷 WE WILL HAPPILY ACCEPT ANY SIZE:
• 15 oz cans
• 29 oz cans
• Giant 6.62 lb cans
• Full cases!

🚨 Please make sure it is 100% PURE PUMPKIN, NOT PUMPKIN PIE FILLING.

If you have a Costco or Sam’s Club membership, ordering pumpkin directly for us is a huge help! We do not have memberships to either store ourselves, so please don’t send us Costco or Sam’s Club gift cards.

🎁 GIFT CARDS ARE ALSO A HUGE HELP!
We primarily purchase pumpkin through Fry’s, Walmart, and Amazon, so gift cards allow us to watch for sales and stock up wherever we can find the best price.

Whether you donate one 15 oz can, a few 29 oz cans, a giant 6.62-lb can, an entire case, or a gift card toward our pumpkin supply, we can use it!

🐷🎃 Help us fill the pantry before the holiday bakers beat 690+ pigs to the pumpkin! 🥧😂

Thank you so much to everyone who helps keep our shelves stocked and our pigs cared for throughout the year! ❤️

🐷 Moving blankets needed! 🐷

We’re running very low on moving blankets at Ironwood Pig Sanctuary!

We use them to cover muddy areas in recovery pens to keep pigs healing from surgery out of the mud. They also provide extra padding for pigs recovering from injuries, including broken legs.

Have moving blankets you no longer need, or want to donate new ones? Clean, used blankets in good condition are welcome! ❤️

🥜🐷 PEANUT BUTTER EMERGENCY! 🐷🥜

Our piggies have once again accomplished the impossible: they’re eating peanut butter faster than we can keep it stocked. 😂

Peanut butter is one of our most-used supplies at the sanctuary. We use it every single day to make med sandwiches for our pigs, because apparently medication is unacceptable unless served with a generous layer of creamy peanut butter. 👀💊

With nearly 700 pigs in our care, our med makers make 500 peanut butter sandwiches a day meaning we go through A LOT of it and desperately need donations of creamy peanut butter 🥜 !

Any brand is appreciated, and big jars are especially helpful. Please avoid sugar-free peanut butter or crunchy peanut butter. The crunchy peanut butter practically guarantees a pig will chomp down on a pill and spit out their sandwich, whereas the smooth peanut butter helps them swallow their medications easier.

Every jar donated helps us keep medication time quick, easy, and a whole lot tastier for the pigs. 🐽❤️

Help us restock the piggy peanut butter supply!

We need your help with an urgent outreach case!

A woman was left with 12 pigs then did the best she could to care for them.

But pigs multiply fast, and without affordable
spay/neuter resources, the situation grew far beyond what one person could manage.

When she contacted Ironwood for help, there were 52 pigs; 34 males and 18 females, all unaltered.

Our first step was to place an order at her local feed store for hay and grain.

Then our outreach team went out to separate
males from females, reinforce fencing, and provide extra shelters and pools.

But that was only the beginning. The males need to be neutered as soon as possible! Even with fencing secured, there continues to be a risk.
Boars are strong and very determined when females are nearby. If they break through and reach the females again, this whole cycle will start over.

The estimated cost to neuter 34 males is about $17,000.

That number is brutal, but the alternative of continued reproduction is worse. This outreach takes supplies, fuel, fencing, feed, veterinary care, and manpower, all while we continue caring for the 680 pigs already at the sanctuary.
But preventing more pigs being born into an already overwhelming situation is one of the most important things we can do.

We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of neutering these 34 males. Your gift will stop the breeding cycle!

Please donate what you can and please share.

Just a few of the groups of boys gathered in pictures posted below.

We will be capturing more/better images of the entire process as we get these neuters taken care of! Stay tuned.
