PINK TEARS ON MASCULINE FACES
Healing After Her Fight
With Affirmations, Action Steps, and Journal Prompts
Some books are written to make money. Others are written to make a difference.
This one was written from my pain, my love, my loss, and my desire to serve.
Today, I am releasing Pink Tears on Masculine Faces in loving memory of Tawonna Lynn Anthony, whose life, love, courage, and legacy continue to inspire me.
Throughout this journey, I’ve wrestled with the idea of publishing this work commercially. Not because I don’t believe in its value, but because I believe its value reaches far beyond anything money could ever measure.
I didn’t write this to become a bestselling author. I wrote it because I know what it feels like to stand beside someone you love as she fights breast cancer, only to find yourself fighting a completely different battle when she’s gone.
I know what it’s like to smile when you’re hurting, to be strong when you’re exhausted, to raise children while grieving, and to have the world expect you to keep moving when everything inside you has come to a standstill.
And I know I’m not the only man who has experienced this.
That’s why I’ve made the personal decision to share this work freely, as a labor of love and service, without seeking financial compensation. I never want the cost of a book to stand between a grieving man and something that might help him find his way forward.
Within these pages are my experiences, lessons learned, reflections, affirmations, action steps, and journal prompts. Not because I have all the answers, but because I’ve lived through enough questions to know how much it matters when someone reminds you that you’re not alone.
And as for compensation?
If these pages reach just ONE man who is silently struggling…
If they help ONE father find the strength to show up for his children…
If they encourage ONE brother to speak instead of suffering in silence…
If they remind ONE grieving husband that his life still has meaning and purpose…
Then I have received a reward greater than any amount of money could ever provide.
Tawonna’s life was a gift. Sharing what her love, her fight, and her transition taught me is one way I can continue honoring that gift.
So today, I offer Pink Tears on Masculine Faces not simply as a manuscript, but as an extension of my heart.
No price tag. No financial expectations. Just love, service, and the hope that someone finds healing in these pages.
To every man who has stood beside a woman through breast cancer and is now learning how to live after her fight, this is for you.
And to everyone reading this, I ask only one thing:
PLEASE SHARE THIS WORK. You may know a man who needs it, even if he’s never told you what he’s carrying.
In loving memory of Tawonna Lynn Anthony. 🩷
Her fight may have ended. Ours did not.
With love, purpose, and gratitude,
Carris M. Carey
