One week away!!!! We'd love to see you paddle the Scenic Upper Cuyahoga River between Camp Hi in Hiram and Buchert Park in Mantua. Along the way collect a five card poker hand and maybe if you are lucky and have one of the top three hands you can win some cash. We ask a $35 registration fee and you can register at our website, www.mantuarotary.org. Instructions and information are there too in a downloadable trifold. See you September 12.

Saturday September 12 is Mantua Rotary's 5th Annual Poker Paddle. Just like the popular Poker Runs, except on a river in a kayak, participants paddle the Cuyahoga River and collect a five card poker hand along the way. We evaluate each hand, and the top three hands win cash prizes. Find out more information at our website, www.mantuarotary.org--down load our trifold. Register at the website there too. We ask a $35 registration fee. Proceeds from the event benefit Rotary Club of Mantua.

There is still plenty of time to register for Rotary Club of Mantua's annual Poker Paddle. Just like a Poker Run, only in a kayak, on the Cuyahoga River, participants can enjoy a late summer day paddling along this scenic river and collect a 5 card poker hand along the way. Best 3 hands win cash prizes. Register on line at www.mantuarotary.com. Download our trifold for information. Registration on line closes on Friday September 11. Proceeds from the event helps fund Mantua Rotary's service projects like the Crestwood Primary School Safety Town program.

This late summer event is a perfect activity to enjoy the beautiful upper Cuyahoga River and support the Rotary Club of Mantua, too. Rotary Club of Manta was once again a proud supporter of the 2026 Crestwood Primary Safety Town. This year 74 rising kindergarteners participated in a week long program designed to teach them about safety at home, at school and in the community. This week they learned safety songs, created art projects, got to see the inside of a fire engine, and sit in a school bus along with many other activities. Safety is the primary goal, but the program also is an excellent chance to introduce kindergarteners to the school ahead of opening day. Organized and directed by teacher Jolene Reese, Safety Town is celebrating their 14th year. Mantua Rotary is pleased to provide financial support to Safety Town so that no child has to pay to participate.

Rotary Club of Mantua sponsored two Crestwood High School students for the 2026 RYLA Camp at Hiram College in June. Abby Wilde and Myla Simpson, shown here with Dean Olson, the club’s RYLA Chair person, at our meeting last week when they shared their experience with members.

Rotary Club of Mantua was well represented at Art on the Hill and Wine Tasting Too on Saturday July 11. Members Sandy Karm and Dean Olson manned a Duck Race booth for kids to catch a duck and and choose a prize. They reported that there were lots of smiles observed there.

Rotary Club of Mantua said good bye to Roger Cram— our president for the past two years and at the same time welcomed our new set of officers for 2026-27: Mike Valentino, President. Gary Smith-Vice President. Sue Steinberg- Secretary. Sandy Karm- Treasurer. It’s going to be a great year.
