Rutland Musical Theatre was founded in 1980 by a small group of people who were keen to start the first 'Musical Theatre' Society in the County, this being due both to a love of music and theatre generally and also to preserve the name of Rutland - which at that time was under threat. The first show was Showboat, performed in Uppingham Theatre in April 1981 to much acclaim. Since then the Company

has gone from strength to strength and is now a well respected part of the Rutland scene. The Company has become a Registered Charity (No: 513497) and performs a major musical production each year. SHREK THE MUSICAL

BE PART OF RMT! 🎭🎶

Fancy getting involved with Rutland Musical Theatre? We’re opening our doors to new members!

Ahead of our upcoming production of Betty Blue Eyes, we’re particularly looking for men (all ages) to join us!

Auditions are open to everyone, whether you’re an experienced performer or completely new to the stage. Our upcoming membership year will include ‘Betty Blue Eyes’, as well as concerts and other opportunities to perform throughout the year.

Prefer being behind the scenes, or just want to be part of the social side of RMT? You don’t need to be a performer to join! Come along on the night to sign up, meet the group and find out about getting involved with backstage, technical, costumes, props, Front of House and more. No audition needed.
