This weekend, we remember the fallen. The soldiers that never returned home. The soldiers that returned home and lost their battles to the demons from overseas. The ones that laid their life on the line, so that we are able to do things, like go fishing.

We would like to thank TrueTimber for giving us their blessing to utilize their camo design in a professional manner. Also gotta thank Kerry Earnhardt and Earnhardt Outdoors for giving us his blessing to include the EO branding on our new banners. Lastly, gotta thank Dan Harris with The Odyssey Collective for putting everything together for us. These banners will primarily be used for our fishing adventures along the OBX.

I hoped I would never have to make a post like this. In 10+ years of working with a Nonprofit, I've never run into this. We had 2 gentlemen come out and participate in the tournament. They fished all 3 of their fish days and informed us every day that they had a great time. They didnt come out and participate in the evenings, except for the night of registration. They seemed very eager to learn more about fishing the area and were very social while they were there. Once the tournament was over, I deposited all the checks from tournament week. About a month later, I get a letter in the mail that this account has been closed and the check wasn't good.
I have texted and called with no luck, even had another tournament board member that was in daily contact with them during the tournament try and reach out. Appears thsy have blocked our numbers and will not return a message or phone call. If anybody has a check written from this guy, please be aware.
Granted, it was only $1000. But this not only throws off how much we netted from the tournament, but because of this, we over paid the winner. Thank God they didnt win and write a bad check.
These tournaments are suppose to be fun and a fundraiser for BSO, not a chance to scam and write bad checks. This may impact us accepting checks in the future.

This is an inquiry post. We wanna have a Giant calcutta next year. In order to do so, we need to look shifting the tournament to early January. What if we looked at Jan 1 and 2 and have a 2 day aggregate for Bluefin, giants a seperate calcutta. Then Jan 3rd, we had a ladies only 1 day tournament for unders, with a giant calcutta.
I know this is right after Christmas and the weekend of New Year's. But with enough time to plan, would you as an angler, captain, or boat owner be interested in participating, this close to New Year's.
Or, would you prefer a date in February, and hope the giants is still in that long?
