While this isnt the final version of the flyer for 2027, this is the basic outline for next year. We looked at alot of the feedback from those that participated or wanted to participate and tried to modify our tournament for improvements.
As we work towards becoming a better tournament host, we wanted to redo our Sponsorship packages. Im a huge advocate for "How can we help support your business", versus would you like to be a sponsor and never hear from us til next tournament. So as Ive spoken with various current and potential sponsors, we wanted to offer a new look for our tournaments.
The 2027 event shirts will be based on the Earnhardt Outdoors Series sponsors. 2 tournaments, 1 mission, double the advertising. We are open to offering more opportunities to get our sponsors more involved. You want your logo on cups for the bar, we can do that. You want your logo on hand towels, yep we can do do. You want to come talk about your business during one or both tournaments, yep we can arrange that. Would you like to come set up a table at one or both tournaments, come on out. Would you like the opportunity to come out to an event and sit down with some Veterans and First Responders and hear about some of their darkest experiences and how impactful these opportunities are to them. Now thats not something you're ready for, but we invite you to come on out and hear about their side of life.
Lets talk about how we can help your brand, while you support our Nation's Heroes though our tournament series. We kick things off March 12th with The Point Bluefin Tuna Tournament, followed by the Heroes Benefit Fishing Tournament in May.

While theres alot of variables with events that we can control, the weather is not 1 of them.
We have pretty much canceled the offshore portion of the event. About 90% of the Vets & First Responders selected, are satisfied with just having the opportunity to get together and maybe try some surf fishing or pier fishing. Right now, we're at the mercy of mother nature and the passability of Hwy 12.
TrueTimber helped us find a unique canvas for The Odyssey Collective to work their magic.
Frisco Woods Campground will be playing host for everything other than fishing.
RTIC Outdoors has set us up with some goodies.
Layden's Supermarket has provided us with pork butts for dinner Friday night and Sausage for breakfast.
Tavern on 12 will be slinging pizzas for dinner Saturday night.
We have everything set in place for a fun and relaxing weekend, just need mother nature to back off just a lil bit.

Today, we remember the tragedy of 9/11/01. The country operated as normal til about 845AM. The next couple hours were pure devastation. Several months after, the country was the most united it had been in decades. What followed for our soldiers, was a war that would impact everyone. Soldiers returned home mentally and physically scarred, some never made it home.
Today we honor the lives lost in the tower, plane wrecks, and lost overseas.
Not Forgotten Racing races to honor these soldiers not just 1 day a year. But every lap, every drag, every obstacle course, and every car they pass on the highway.
Always Ready. Never Alone. Not Forgotten.

The stage is set for our 6th Annual Heroes Offshore Adventure; Sept 24-27. We have 13 boats taking 69 Veterans and First Responders Offshore fishing on the 26th.
We have boats traveling down from Oregon Inlet and up from Morehead City to be involved.
We wanna thank Frisco Woods Campground for assisting us with lodging and allowing us to host our events on site.
Wanna thank Layden's Supermarket and Tavern on 12 for dinners. Friday night we are cooking pork butts & fixins, Saturday night will be pizza night.
Rumor has it there will be additional fishing throughout the weekend and atleast 1 co****le tournament.
We never would of imagined this event to grow this big when we started it. This is where the bulk of our funds from the tournaments go to. Stay tuned, as we share additional pictures and videos from the event.

4 years ago when we started this journey, I was clueless on what it takes to run and host a fishing tournament. Over the years, we've altered our tournament in hopes to offer a better tournament setting each year. As we entered year 3, I knew our sponsor deck needed a revamp. With the help if anglers, other tournament directors, marina staff, and sponsors, this is where we landed.
Unlike most tournaments along the OBX, we offer more opportunities to help promote your business and services. Since the majority of our sponsors sponsor most of the activities we host, we wanted to put together a package that supported them while giving those that support 1 or 2 activities an equal opportunity at publicity.
Based in how you chose to support each tournament, is where you will fall under the Series Sponsorship. We plan to offer only 1 Tournament shirt, based on Series Sponsor levels. You can choose to support 1 tournament or both tournaments. We have put together some basic packages for each tournament (Daily presenting Sponsor, Meal Sponsor, Bar Sponsor, Weigh Station Sponsor, Bucket Items, and Heroes Boat Sponsor). We are happy to put together a fully customized sponsor package that benefit both your business and the tournament.
As we prepare for 2027, we would love to have more input from sponsors to get involved with us more than just giving donations. Come set up at a tournament, come join us for a day offshore, come join us at the golf tournament, come hangout with us for a hunt, or let's go across country and help offer a trip of a lifetime for our Nation's Heroes on hunt they wouldnt normally have the opportunity to take.
Lets get together and see how we can benefit each other, other than hey can you sponsor our event for $250.

We're looking to make some changes to improve our tournament experience for 2027. We have cut the tournament down to 2 days of fishing and increased payouts.
Shallowbag Bay Marina will play host for all things fishing related, while Salt & Cypress Kitchen and Cocktails will play host to all things tournament logistics related.
Please bare with us while we finalize some details, but we will release more details as things are finalized.

*Flyer isnt the final draft, that will be released later in 2026.
**note the weekend has been pushed back to the 2nd weekend in March of 2027.

This year, we will surpass our goal of 60 available fishing spots, with 64 Total fishing slots. These slots include our event staff, sponsors, ladies only boat, and inshore group.
There will be a seperate post for the ladies only boat as well as the inshore boat.
Please bare in mind that the number of available slots may change, in the event a boat becomes unavailable due to mechanical reasons, life happens, or we receive additional opportunities.
Some of these boats, the winning anglers may require a salt water fishing license. This will be discussed further in a group chat.
Whats included:
Lodging Thursday- Sunday
Dinner Friday & Saturday night
Drinks throughout the weekend
Some snacks
Breakfast Friday & Saturday AM (To take on the boat)
We cover any charter fees, tips and fish cleaning fir the weekend.
All fish caught over the weekend, will be divided as evenly as we can, regardless of what is caught by who.
Primarily, or goal is troll for mahi, tuna, and wahoo. Some boats may opt to try wrecks and bottom fish. This is at the discretion of the captains.
Our goal is to take some folks that have never been Offshore fishing, so let us know.

Thursday is optional. All winners must arrive to Frisco Woods Campground by 1600 on Friday, to check into cabins and meeting before dinner.

You can enter on multiple posts if interested or meet the requirements (ladies only post).

Winners will be selected on Aug 30, around 2000.

We're working on trying to make both the Heroes Benefit Fishing Tournament, Presented by BSO and EO and The Point Bluefin Tuna Tournament a little more exciting. Growing pains as we continue to grow both events, but we're hoping to offer a fun experience for all of those that choose to support us.
Over the coming weeks, we will post more information on the series itself..

We're looking at exploring options for the best time to hold the tournament in 2027. Right now, we're slated to host the tournament Feb 4-7. Its been brought to our attention that possibly pushing the tournament back some could increase participation. We want your input and feedback on the situation.
-Early February more likely means that the Giant season will be open. This would allow teams the opportunity to harvest and weigh a Giant.
-later February to early march would most likely mean that the Giant season will be closed, however the bite could possibly be pushed closer to shore.

We understand there's no guarantee that the Giant season will make it to early February or even early march. We understand there's no guarantee that the bite will push nearshore like it has the last couple years.
We're exploring the idea of potentially adding a giant release calcutta, similar to the way several tournaments run the billfish. We're open to the idea of promoting both a Giant harvest calcutta (season pending) and a giant release. Removing the yellowfin calcutta, and offering an outboard calcutta from day 1.

We're looking at making this more of a weekend tournament, rather than killing a week like last year. So looking at registration being a friday night with fish days of Saturday & Sunday. Leaving the 2 days as an aggregate total for non giants. Or registration Thursday, with fish days Friday-Sunday; no lay days, you fish the days you can safely fish, 3 day aggregate.

Increased participation, increases the net return to BSO, increasing the payout amount. Win win for everyone.

Tournament is open to everyone. Charter boat Captains/ boat owners have the option to register the boat, regardless if anglers dont want to buy in.

So would you prefer:
1- 2 day tournament or 3 day tournament
2- earlier tournament for opportunity at harvesting and weighing a giant or later tournament to fish the nearshore bite off the beach?
3- suggestions for us to explore?

Looking to make this an annual summer event, and add in an annual Bluefin event.

What's included?
Boat ride, charter fees, fish cleaning, some drinks options, tackle, bait.

What's not included?
Lodging, Mate tip, guarantee to catch fish or your desired species, food/ snacks

We can try to assist you with finding lodging near the Marina. Since its peak season along the OBX, theres not many places that offer any form of discount. Once winners are selected, you'll be added to a group chat. Each boat will have 1 staffer to assist the crew and take pictures.

BSO trips, leaving the dock and while under power, have a 0 alcohol policy. This is for liability purposes.

After this trip, we will be at 28 Heroes offshore. Our goal for 2026 is 100.
