Task Force 4809 has returned home! 🇺🇸🔥

After 14 days deployed to Nevada and California in support of CAL OES, our partners in Nevada, and the USDA Forest Service, the members of Task Force 4809 have safely returned home.

The task force was comprised of:

• 🚒 Type 3 Engine — Manteca Fire Department
• 🚒 Type 1 Engine — Winters Fire Department
• 🚒 Type 6 Engines — San Francisco Fire Department, Ione Fire Department, and Westport Fire Department

Our crews worked alongside local, state, and federal partners throughout the deployment, providing critical wildland fire resources and support.

Adding to the effort, the crews returned directly from the Bug, Stallion and most recently the MP18 Fire in Hoopa, California, where they had been supporting fire suppression operations.

We’re proud of the professionalism, dedication, and hard work displayed by every member of Task Force 4809. Welcome home, and thank you for representing your departments and communities! 🇺🇸👨‍🚒🔥

Today we had the honor of swearing in our newest honorary firefighter, Firefighter Jett Trunnell. FF Jett spent the day with us riding along with engine 244. Between getting sworn in, responding to calls, watching the probationary firefighters do their skills testing, to eating lunch with the crews, it was a busy morning. Firefighter Jett has been bravely battling Osteosarcoma since he was 14. He is currently 15. This is the type of bravery and strength that we look for in this line of work. We were honored to have you today Jett🫡

This Sunday June 21, come out and support your MFD Reserve Firefighters as they represent the Manteca Firefighters Association in the 8th Annual Hayward Firefighters charity demolition derby at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton 🇺🇸

Today Manteca Firefighters responded to a technical rescue for a patient who fell on a roof. Our training paid off and responding crews efficiently brought the patient down for transport by medics. Thank you for trusting us with your emergencies.

Last night at approximately 21:30 hrs. your Manteca Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire in South Manteca.. No injuries to occupants or Fire Personnel. Crews spent several hours on scene getting the fire under control and salvage and overhaul operations. Due to an aggressive fire attack with these extreme fire conditions firefighters were able to limit fire damage to the single property and minimal damage to adjacent properties. Your Manteca firefighters are proud to serve the citizens of Manteca.

Your participation helps support our upcoming stair climb benefiting Blood Cancer United and the fight to find a cure for blood cancer — one of the most common cancers affecting firefighters.
