Mansfield Aviation Club was founded on June 16, 1949. The first officers were:

Mansfield Aviation Club meets on the first Saturday of each month in the Terminal building at Mansfield Lahm Airport at 0930. Mansfield Aviation Club’s mission is to share among its members, their passion for aviation and to further their knowledge, skill, and the joy of flying to all who have an interest in aviation. Our membership consists of aviation enthusiasts of all ages and experience, pilots and non-pilots, sharing their knowledge and friendship. We also sponsor scholarships! Today was a fantastic day for the Mansfield Aviation Club (MAC) at Airport Day!

Our members were out in full force, and thanks to the incredible efforts of so many dedicated volunteers, the Pancake Breakfast was a huge success. A special thank you to Corey Hornikel for his outstanding leadership in making it all come together.

The excitement continued as our MAC pilots kept the Young Eagles flights going throughout the morning, introducing so many young people to the joy and wonder of aviation. There’s nothing quite like seeing the smiles after a first flight!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, flew, cooked, served, and supported today’s event. It was a great day of community, fellowship, and promoting the future of aviation. Blue skies until next year! ✈️🥞

The Mansfield Aviation Club (MAC), established in 1949, is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides aviation scholarships.

Throughout its history, the Mansfield Lahm Airport has served our community by being one of our state’s finest general aviation airports. The cost of flying has become more expensive, and many who had the dream of becoming a pilot may have found it beyond their financial means. MAC scholarships can help people fulfill their dreams and keep general aviation in our community vibrant into the future.

To be eligible for the MAC Aviation Scholarship, applicants must:

Be a United States citizen
Live in Richland County or a contiguous county
Be at least 16 years of age by the application deadline of April 1
Hold a current FAA Student Pilot Certificate at the time of application
