Lots of people will be returning to work and school from the holidays tomorrow, and lots of people are sick. If you’re not feeling well or have tested positive for a virus like the flu or COVID-19, please help protect yourself and others by staying home, or wear a mask if you have to go out. You can also protect yourself by wearing a mask if you are well!

Over the past year, we’ve seen a noticeable decline in participation at our physical location. While the need for support remains strong, it's become clear that a fixed space is no longer the most effective way to reach and serve LGBTQ+ youth in Manhattan.

As a result, the True Colors Board of Directors has made the decision to close our physical space and transition to an all-volunteer run model. We are hoping this will allow us to become a more flexible and financially sustainable community resource.
Here’s what this next chapter looks like:

- Educational and community resource gathering to support LGBTQ+ youth directly and sustainably
- Pop-up events and community-based programming that meet youth in schools, neighborhoods, and partner organizations
- Stronger collaboration with local groups to expand our reach and deepen our impact

Though our structure is changing, our commitment remains the same: to affirm, uplift, and advocate for LGBTQ+ youth across Manhattan and beyond.
Your support has made it possible for us to serve hundreds of young people and families over the past three years, and we are deeply grateful. Thank you for believing in our mission, and for continuing to be a part of the True Colors family.

Our last day of operations in our physical space will be Friday, October 17th, and we will be hosting a community drop-in event from 5-8pm for youth, alumni, volunteers and supporters to say goodbye. We will have a bonfire (of course!), food and opportunities to share memories. We hope to see you all there to honor and celebrate the house and staff one last time. Please RSVP below so we have food for everyone!
