May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month. Some symptoms can seem small at first, but subtle changes matter. Persistent headaches, vision changes, memory issues, confusion, or difficulty with balance and speech shouldn’t be ignored, especially if they are new or worsening over time.

While these symptoms do not always mean brain cancer, paying attention to your body and seeking medical guidance early can make an important difference. Early evaluation and detection are key to getting answers and beginning treatment if needed.

This month, we raise awareness, support those affected by brain cancer, and encourage conversations about the importance of recognizing warning signs early.

It’s normal to feel hesitant about exercise when bone health is a concern. Fear of falling or injury is real—but avoiding movement can actually increase risk over time.

Safe, guided activity can help rebuild strength and confidence. You don’t have to figure it out alone. Join us for our third and final installment of Meadowlark Cancer Program's Bone Health series. "Empower Yourself: Bone Health" will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Manhattan Public Library. No registration required. Last week, members of the HER Cancer Collective enjoyed a beautiful evening at Sunset Zoo! Participants took part in a guided flower arranging activity led by fellow HCC participant, Diana, creating stunning arrangements while sharing conversation and laughter along the way.

Thank you to Diana for sharing her talents and to everyone who joined us for this special gathering. Moments like these remind us of the strength and support found in community.

Did you know that blood in the urine is the most common early sign of bladder cancer? Even if it happens only once or isn’t painful, it’s important not to ignore it.

Early detection can make a significant difference in treatment and outcomes. If you notice changes such as blood in the urine, frequent urination, or pain while urinating, talk with your healthcare provider.

Awareness and early action matter. Listen to your body and encourage loved ones to do the same.

Head and neck cancer symptoms can be subtle at first.

A lingering sore throat, ongoing hoarseness, or trouble swallowing may not seem urgent—but if they persist, it’s worth getting checked. Paying attention to changes in your body is an important step in early detection.
