Project Performing Arts is a non-profit performing arts program located in Harlem for children ages 6-17 years of age. PPA opened for classes in September 2013 and received non-profit status in 2019. Classes in Dance, Theater Arts and West African Drumming provides students with low cost professional performing arts classes. My heart is full! Saturday evening, PHILADANCO , celebrating 56 years of artistic excellence, filled the Joyce stage and theater with dance and love. 💜✨ Good people The Christopher Lance Huggins Dr. Andrea Markus Keith Darius Damazi Williams & Pamela M. Hobson, great energy, and the kind of moments that remind you why we do what we do. And - Love what we do with each other and in support of each other.

When creativity and imagination is encouraged in the studio… five blue simple tees and a repositioned skirt become interesting costumes. 😂 Because at PPA, we don’t just teach dance—we let imagination take the lead, and creativity get kooky. 🤩💜

🙏🏽 Dance Mindset Academy Dancers deserve more than success. They deserve to feel safe becoming who they are.

The goal is not to remove challenge from dance.
The goal is to remove fear, shame, and comparison as the main teaching tools.

Dancers can be held to high standards while still feeling respected, supported, and emotionally safe.

When studio culture is built intentionally, dancers are more likely to stay connected to their confidence, creativity, resilience, and love of dance.

We believe healthy dance environments matter just as much as strong technique.

If your studio is looking to create a more supportive, connected, and sustainable culture, our workshops are designed to help start those conversations.

PPA Archives aren’t just a throwback—but a reminder of how growth happens. Today we revisit PPA moments that remind us how far our students have come—and why we share with them that their journey matters one class, one rehearsal, and one brave moment at a time.
