Carson Cats Rescue Carson Cats is a cat rescue dedicated to rescuing cats & kittens from 6 Los Angeles County shelters.

Cyndi Zacko and her small team of volunteers work relentlessly to rescue cats in need from these shelters, raising money for their vetting, pulling them from the shelters and transporting them to prospective fosters, adopters and rescues to the Los Angeles Area. Carson Cats is also highly involved in making these cats HEALTHY for the rescues to take and find homes for because most of the animals t

hat come from these shelters are exposed to terrible viruses or are surrendered to the shelter in terrible shape due to abuse and neglect.

Cat thrown out of Car and Hit, Now give 72 hour shelter notice

Funds and Foster needed! Please see link in bio or:
🧡 To donate toward Amy's care: www.carsoncats.com/donate
🏡 To apply to foster Amy: www.carsoncats.com/foster

The shelter recently issued a 72-hour notice for Amy.

According to the shelter notes, Amy was reportedly thrown from a moving vehicle and may have been hit by a car before ending up at the shelter. She was turned in as a stray and was understandably very scared. Notes indicate that a family member was bitten while trying to catch and transport Amy to the shelter, and Amy has since been deemed rescue-only and is not available to the public.

Honestly, if I had just been thrown from a car, potentially injured, and someone grabbed me to put me in a carrier, I might not be thrilled either.

We would like to give Amy a chance to decompress and figure out who she is outside of the shelter environment. We would also like to have her leg evaluated, as it is possible she sustained injuries from the incident that brought her to the shelter.

We are looking for a patient foster who can give Amy the time, space, and understanding she may need. We are also hoping to raise approximately $350 for her initial veterinary exam, x-rays, and diagnostics.

Amy is clearly scared, and she may also be in pain from whatever happened before she arrived at the shelter.

If you can foster, donate, network, or help advocate for Amy, please visit the link in our bio or go to www.carsoncats.com/donate.

🚨 72-Hour Notice: Adora Needs Help for a Severe Skin Condition

❤️ Foster ➡ www.carsoncats.com/foster

The shelter recently sent out a 72-hour notification for Adora because they were running out of options and she needed more diagnostics and medical care than they could provide.

Adora is only about 7 years old, but she has one of the worst skin cases we've seen in a while. The shelter has treated her extensively and done everything they can with the resources available to them, but she simply isn't getting better. She is itchy, uncomfortable, has significant hair loss, and has likely been dealing with this condition for a very long time.

Unfortunately, skin cases like this are rarely straightforward. There usually isn't a magic medication that fixes everything. Some cats have severe allergies, some have autoimmune conditions, and some require food trials, biopsies, allergy testing, specialty medications, or months of treatment before we finally get answers.

Our hope is to get Adora in with a veterinary dermatologist so we can start figuring out exactly what is going on. The initial consultation, diagnostics, and testing are expected to cost at least $750.

The thing that makes Adora's case especially hard is that she is such a sweetheart. Despite being uncomfortable in her own skin, she absolutely loves people. She has quickly become a volunteer favorite and everyone who meets her comments on how affectionate and loving she is. She should honestly be grumpy given how uncomfortable she must feel, but instead she just wants attention and pets.

We would also love to find a foster home for Adora. Ideally she would have a room of her own for a few weeks so we can properly complete a food trial and monitor her progress. That simply isn't something we can do well in the cattery environment, and we know she would benefit tremendously from being in a home while we work through her medical needs.

They lost their person. Then they lost their home. But they didn’t lose each other. 🤍🖤

When their owner passed away, the family surrendered them to the shelter. Carson Cats pulled them out together so they wouldn’t be separated. They cuddle up every night. Wherever one goes, the other follows.

Meet Casper 🤍
Casper is a 12 year old snow-white gentleman with a sweet pink nose and a heart full of love. He’s the social one, the kind of cat who walks right up to say hello. He’s curious, treat-obsessed and happy to get pets from anyone willing to give them. At 12, he’s grateful for every bit of attention.

Meet Bootsie 🖤
Bootsie is a 10 year old beauty with a fluffy black coat, a white bib, little white paws, and the most expressive whiskers you’ve ever seen. She’s friendly and gentle from the start. She’ll say hello, lean into your pets, and if you’ve got a Churu, you’ll have her full attention. A touch more reserved than Casper, who’s the first one out the door, but don’t mistake that for shyness. She’s just a little more composed about it. All the sweetness, none of the fuss.

Together, they’re easy. Two mellow seniors who just want to be part of someone’s life. Double the love, double the company, and two cats are just as simple as one.

They’re looking for a calm, loving home together.

An incredibly generous donor has stepped up to MATCH donations for Hunter’s critical care, meaning every dollar donated will now go TWICE as far. 🐾

Please donate, share, or help if you can to try and raise $4200 for Hunters Life saving surgery!!

www.carsoncats.com/donate

Hunter is currently hospitalized after arriving with a severely necrotic leg and dangerous flea anemia. Before he can safely undergo amputation surgery, he first needs stabilization, supportive care, and a blood transfusion.

We are trying to raise approximately $4,200 for his hospitalization, transfusion, surgery, and recovery care.

This update means so much to us because our rescue is also still grieving the recent loss of one of our longtime special needs fosters, Toby, who fought an incredibly complex urinary condition for nearly 8 years before we ultimately lost him despite emergency intervention and surgeries.

As heartbroken as we still are, we would love to try to save Hunter in Toby’s memory and continue fighting for special needs cats who deserve every chance possible. ❤️

Please donate, share, or help if you can:

It wouldn’t be a holiday weekend in rescue without another emergency…sigh

A Good Samaritan contacted us about a tiny kitten named Hunter with a severely necrotic leg that urgently needs amputation before infection and sepsis spread further through his body. But before he can safely undergo surgery, Hunter is also dangerously flea-anemic and needs hospitalization, intensive supportive care, and a blood transfusion to stabilize him first.

We are trying to raise approximately $4,200 to cover Hunter’s hospitalization, transfusion, surgery, and recovery care so this little guy has a chance to survive.

To be transparent, our rescue is also coming off one of the hardest financial months we’ve had in a long time. A few weeks ago, we lost one of our longtime special needs fosters, Toby, after catastrophic complications from his complex urinary condition despite emergency surgeries and intervention.

Toby was with us for nearly 8 years and was one of the most medically complex cats we’ve ever cared for. He required extensive daily care and a urinary tube procedure that helped give him far more time than most cats in his situation are expected to have. Despite everything stacked against him, he fought so hard and was deeply loved by everyone who knew him.

As heartbroken as we still are, we would love to try to save Hunter in Toby’s memory — and in honor of all special needs cats who deserve a chance, no matter how complicated they may be. Hunter may face life as a tripod, but we know firsthand that special needs cats can still live beautiful, happy, deeply loved lives.

If anyone is able to donate, share, or help in any way, we would be so incredibly grateful. ❤️

Meet Captain Jack 💙🏴‍☠️

When he came to us, his eye infection was already too far gone to save. He had every reason to come out of it guarded, distant, untrusting.

Instead, he became the biggest lovebug you’ll ever meet.

He plays. He leans into every pet. He claims your lap and stays awhile. He’s healed up, healthy, and gentle with other cats.

He’s the kind of calm, steady companion who fits seamlessly into a home. He may look a little different. But he loves just the same.

Help us find him his forever family, please share this post. 💙
