The shelter recently issued a 72-hour notice for Amy.
According to the shelter notes, Amy was reportedly thrown from a moving vehicle and may have been hit by a car before ending up at the shelter. She was turned in as a stray and was understandably very scared. Notes indicate that a family member was bitten while trying to catch and transport Amy to the shelter, and Amy has since been deemed rescue-only and is not available to the public.
Honestly, if I had just been thrown from a car, potentially injured, and someone grabbed me to put me in a carrier, I might not be thrilled either.
We would like to give Amy a chance to decompress and figure out who she is outside of the shelter environment. We would also like to have her leg evaluated, as it is possible she sustained injuries from the incident that brought her to the shelter.
We are looking for a patient foster who can give Amy the time, space, and understanding she may need. We are also hoping to raise approximately $350 for her initial veterinary exam, x-rays, and diagnostics.
Amy is clearly scared, and she may also be in pain from whatever happened before she arrived at the shelter.
