🍽️ Forward Giving in Action

On May 7, our members rolled up their sleeves and gave back by preparing and serving dinner with Shared Bread, a local program providing meals to unhoused neighbors in Redondo Beach.

From chopping and cooking to preparing and connecting, it was a powerful reminder that even small acts of kindness can create a meaningful impact.

💛 Thank you to Shared Bread for the opportunity and our volunteers for showing up with open hearts and helping hands.

Important Forward Giving Dates!

We’re entering the next phase of our grant cycle: site visits with our two finalist organizations. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more before the Final Pitch on June 5th.

Site visits are open to current Forward Giving members only and will last about an hour, with an optional 30-minute discussion afterward.

Announcing Our 2025 Forward Giving Circle Finalists!

After four inspiring presentations, we’re thrilled to announce the two organizations moving forward to the final pitch for funding:

🏡 Homebank LA (A Sense of Home) – Rebuilding lives and homes for young adults who lost everything in the LA Fires.
🌈 Brave Trails Camps – Empowering LGBTQ+ youth to lead with confidence, connection, and purpose.

We were also deeply moved by the presentations from:
👓 Partners for Pediatric Vision – Supporting children with visual impairments and their families
🐴 Taking the Reins – Helping girls build confidence through hands-on experiences with animals and nature

We're excited to announce that we'll be volunteering with Partners for Pediatric Vision in the months ahead!

🌟 Building the Next Generation of LGBTQ+ Leaders 🌟

At Brave Trails, leadership starts with community, confidence, and connection. Their California-based leadership summer camps empower LGBTQ+ youth (ages 12-19) by providing a safe, affirming space where they can build resilience, develop leadership skills, and find belonging.

Many of these young leaders have also been affected by the LA Wildfires, adding even more challenges to their journey. Brave Trails is there to help them grow, heal, and lead.

They are one of the final four organizations presenting at Forward Giving’s Fast Pitch on March 27! Join us to hear their inspiring story and help decide who moves on to the finals.

At Taking the Reins, historically underserved girls in Los Angeles discover confidence, leadership, responsibility, and teamwork through hands-on experiences with animals, agriculture, and nature.

By caring for horses, tending to flocks of chickens and ducks, looking after a warren of bunnies, and working in the garden, girls gain the skills and strength to navigate their growth and futures.

🌿 Through these experiences, they don’t just learn—they transform into leaders ready to take on life’s challenges.
