That’s a wrap on our Dignity in Schools project for 9/11 Day! 💙

This year, we reached nearly 600 children, sharing lessons of dignity, kindness, and compassion while honoring the lives lost on 9/11 through service to others.

A heartfelt thank you to all the participating schools, our corporate sponsors, 9/11 Day, and AmeriCorps for helping us bring this project to life. Together, we’re inspiring the next generation to lead with dignity and make a difference in their communities!

As part of this year’s 9/11 Day Project, Dignity Beyond Borders brought the Dignity Model into schools, where students learned about dignity and created their own bookmarks inspired by what it means to treat ourselves and others with dignity.

What does dignity look like to you?

For students participating in Dignity Beyond Borders’ 9/11 Day school project, it looks like kindness, connection, empathy, and treating others with respect.

Students learn about the importance of dignity and then turn those ideas into something they can share: handmade bookmarks featuring their own messages and reminders about how we can make a difference in the lives of others.

This 9/11 Day, we’re reminded that creating a more compassionate world starts with how we treat one another.

Through Dignity Beyond Borders’ 9/11 Day school project, students explore what dignity looks like in their everyday lives and how small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

By creating bookmarks with messages of dignity, kindness, and connection, students are putting those lessons into action and sharing them with others.

Because building a culture of dignity doesn’t have to start with something big. It can start with a classroom, a conversation, or a simple reminder to someone that they matter.

Join us this autumn for a restorative retreat created especially for widows who lost their spouses on September 11.
Hosted by Dignity Beyond Borders, this three-day retreat offers a supportive space for connection, reflection, and renewal alongside others who share a unique journey. Through guided conversations, mindfulness, yoga, and time immersed in nature, participants will have the opportunity to honor their experiences while exploring what comes next.
📍 Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Stockbridge, MA
📅 October 4–7, 2026
Retreat accommodations include a private room and bath. Optional Healing Arts services, including massage and facials, are available for an additional cost. Space is limited and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our hearts are still full from connecting with so many amazing people and organizations yesterday at the event hosted by the . This incredible event spent time honoring the lives and impact of colleagues and friends from the Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Group companies, whose memories brought us together, 25 years later.

Special thank you to forward Kyle Palmieri for joining Dignity Beyond Borders in support of this important day. What a spectacular way to continue the impact more than two decades on.
