We helped clear the shelters in our own way.

August was Maryland 3000 and they saved 3,008 animals from shelters! What an amazing feat!

Koch's finalized 18 adoptions in August making room for us to save more dogs... We also took in 14 dogs in August 6 of them from Maryland shelters! (The others were 4 owner surrenders in PA, 2 from WV shelters, and 2 from out of the area.)

This is Picasso. He is the cutest boy. He has a jaw deformity that makes his tongue stick out, but he still lives his best life and makes these cute faces all the time! His deformity is like him having the biggest overbite. So ka-yute!

Picasso is a medium energy dog -- he has never met a dog he doesn't like. He loves tug of war and leap frog. He also loves taking walks and sniffing all around.

Picasso just got neutered on Tuesday and will be looking into a surgery to help him with his tongue (he gets super dehydrated since his tongue is always hanging out).

Picasso would love a foster with a somewhat active life (daily walks) or at least a fenced yard so he can stretch his long legs -- it would be doubly amazing if his foster is looking to fail. :)

This is Dee. His momma fell in love at first sight and we happily obliged by tagging him and transporting. And momma was right... she got him in her home and it was a perfect fit!

We love a good foster-fail... and sometimes, you just see it coming...

Congratulations to...

Bella... scared dog who fits right into the pack with her patient foster mom. This girl likes who she likes and she loves her momma. Happy tails to Bella for not having to look for what you had all along! And thank you to our foster for having the biggest heart!

Yoko... he spent an entire year in the shelter with no adoption. The foster who just adopted Bella above, told us about him and she said she was going to not foster for us because she wanted to open her home to Yoko. We decided to keep her as a foster and set to work on finding Yoko a safe place to land. With the help of , and an emergency foster, Yoko got his freedom walk and eventually landed in his permanent foster... where they fell madly in love! They had recently lost their resident dogs and decided Yoko could stay forever! Congratulations Yoko!

Swirly girl, Belle... picked up by our founders at a local shelter... she had a little birth defect... and when one of our founders saw that I posted her for adoption, I got an earful about "she's not going anywhere"... so she's not! Happy tails to Bella... you are officially part of the Koch's pack!

Late post!

Guess who got adopted last week! Biggie! This sweet boy was found as a stray with his brother and he made it up and out with this sweet young couple! Congratulations to Biggie on his adoption!
