We're back with an update from the More 4 Manchester pilot community project happening as a result of a partnership with the Iowa Rural Vitality Coalition. This coalition is a collaborative task force of the Governor's Empower Rural Iowa Initiative. It includes many valuable leaders across the state in collaboration to reveal what projects are needed in Manchester to allow for residents to live a healthier and wealthier life. 🏡

The most recent meeting took place on February 28, 2025 in Manchester and we continued to dive into Phase 4 of our pilot community project. This meeting offered analyzed data insights and informed areas of opportunity in Manchester. Facilitators used group polling technology to prioritize the opportunities, and plan next steps to discover root causes of issues this pilot project may be able to address. There were many great small group discussions happening among various leaders throughout the community of Manchester!!

On April 12, 2024 the Iowa Rural Vitality Coalition announced a partnership with Van Buren County and the community of Manchester to launch a pilot program aimed at improving the health and vitality of rural communities. This initiative will focus on building and refining a process that can be replicated to benefit other rural communities throughout the state.

What is More 4 Manchester?!?

We are a group of community leaders working with the Iowa Rural Vitality Coalition to find out what is needed in Manchester! The coalition is a collaborative initiative of the Governor’s Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, the Iowa Rural Development Council, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, the Institute for Decision Making at the University of Northern Iowa, the University of Iowa College of Public Health and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
