The Queenie Foundation, Inc.

The Queenie Foundation, Inc. Founded in 1996. Mission: The Queenie Foundation promotes kindness to all animals through humane education and companion animal rescue/adoption.

We are an all-volunteer non-profit humane education/animal rights organization that focuses on cat rescue/adoption. I lived with my maternal grandparents when I was a young child. My grandmother served on the board of the local humane society for approximately 15 years. I believe my sense of justice for those who can't speak for themselves is in my DNA from her. Though she wasn’t an activist, she

abhorred cruelty to animals. Please encourage the people you know who have not had their animal companions spayed or neutered to do so immediately. There are organizations searchable on the Internet to assist if money is an issue. You can contact us at 860 649 4488 or [email protected].

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) just erected this billboard in Times Square, NYC.

It follows the backlash Billie Eilish has received from her recent Elle interview.

Billie Eilish is 100% right, you can't love animals and eat meat. Or any animal product for that matter.

Igor Mykhaylovych Lytvynchuk, 38, was charged Tuesday with violating the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammal Protection Act, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Lytvynchuk was then arrested Wednesday near Seattle by agents with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He is scheduled to make his initial appearance Thursday in U.S. District Court in Seattle.

This comes following a video circulating on social media showing a man throwing a large object at an endangered seal in Maui.

One witness claims the man said, after being told that authorities were called, "Fine me. I'm rich."

If convicted, Lytvynchuk faces up to one year in prison on each charge, as well as fines of up to $50,000 under the Endangered Species Act and $20,000 under the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

Did you know that Ted Turner was the co-creator of Captain Planet and the Planeteers — and that Jane had the opportunity to "meet" the superhero when she accepted the 2014 Captain Planet Foundation Benefit Gala Exemplar Award?

As the Jane Goodall Institute community reflects on Ted Turner's passing and significant impact on conservation, we are reminded of one of Captain Planet's most famous phrases: "The power is yours." Let's use the power we have to protect the natural world we share 🌎

Our adoption process: Prospective adopters must be at least 25 years old and live in Connecticut. You meet the cat(s) in whom you’re interested (we’re a foster-based organization and our cats are in several locations). We call the animal hospitals you’ve used for a reference and do a home visit by video chat.

If you’re approved, you sign an adoption contract, we email the cat’s/cats’ medical paperwork to you, and we meet at the Manchester PetSmart adoption center for you to pick up the cat(s) and receive a coupon booklet from PetSmart.
