🍩 SISYPHUS, HOMER SIMPSON, AND THE ETERNAL STRUGGLE FOR DONUTS
A brief lesson in Greek mythology.
According to ancient Greek legend, Sisyphus was a king who repeatedly cheated death and generally made himself a nuisance to the gods.
His punishment?
Push an enormous boulder up a hill.
For eternity.
Every time he got close to the top, the boulder rolled back down.
No breaks. No weekends. No retirement.
And, most tragically, no donuts.
Fast-forward a few thousand years to Homer Simpson, a man who would absolutely push a giant donut up a mountain if someone told him he could eat it at the top.
Unlike Sisyphus, however, Homer has a way out.
He can simply buy a dozen Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnuts for $17, support public education with an $8.50 contribution to the Manassas Park Education Foundation, and go back to the couch.
No hills. No boulders. No angry Greek gods.
Just donuts.
The moral of the story?
Life is absurd. Fundraising is eternal. Donuts make both more bearable.
