UPDATED to include who it is for:

I am collecting new/unused clothing, toys, shoes, coats, personal care items, and gift cards in order to bless a single mom and her 2 kids during these holidays. Please message me for a list of needs as well as the drop-off address. (keeping it off here in order to surprise them!)

I am also always grateful for monetary donations so that I can continue to do what I do throughout the year. I need to be able to buy specific items when needed, plus be able to give money to those in need.

Thank you so much for your generosity! Please check out our website for more information. Www.kidswhokare.com

And our Venmo is: -USA

Please share this post to help me get the word out. Thank you!

Important and interesting information if looking to donate to food banks or in personalcare packages

Reposting what I saw somewhere else...

"So, I spoke to people getting food at a food bank and here are some things I learned from those in need:
1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks.
2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.
3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles.
4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops.
5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of.
6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real Christmas gift.
7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care.
8. Sugar and flour are treats.
9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores.
10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some.
11. They rarely get fresh meat.
12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch.
13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.
14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread.
15. Butter or margarine is nice too.
16. Eggs are a real commodity.
17. Cake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake.
18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated.
19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that.
20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing.
21. Diapers
22. Wipes
23. Buns
24. Baked goods
25. Potatoes
26. Nuts
27. Seeds for eating or cooking
28. Raisins
29. Dishwashing pods
30. Rags and cleaning supplies
31. Pet food
32. Pet supplies
In all the years I have donated food at the Holidays, I bought what I thought they wanted, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family this Christmas, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!"

We are an organization, started by an amazing 11-yr-old boy...

(My mom wrote that, above!) With the help of my parents and inspired by Cavanaugh, a new-found friend in Maryland, I started my nonprofit organization, Kids Who Kare. I am Charlie, the CKO (Chief Kare Officer) and I have always had the desire to help people, whether there is a need or not, and to make them feel appreciated and cared for. In March of 2020, when the onset of COVID-19 spread across our country and the rest of the world, and a quarantine was put into place, I had an idea. I knew I needed to help the people in my community and beyond by bringing much-needed paper products, cleaning supplies and food to the folks who shouldn't or couldn't go out to get them themselves. As I began this journey, I heard stories of unemployment, sickness, as well as lack of money or transportation, and no family close by to help out. I knew then that I had found exactly what I was looking for - an way to help people with needs, any needs, anytime. And so my project was born. Through donations from Cavanaugh and his organization, β€œCool & Dope”, as well as donations from big companies like Brawny and Wegmans, and individuals in our community like my friends on the police force, I have been visiting homes and hosting drive-thru pantry days in order to give out my Kare Packages, share a moment with people, give a bit of comfort and kind words. The feeling of joy for everyone is what makes me happy. I hope to continue my mission, through donations and fund-raising, for many years to come. I plan on helping people when needs arise, whether it is for a community during a pandemic or after a disaster, or whether it is for one person with a specific need. As I said before: any need, any time. I also hope to inspire other kids to join Kids Who Kare, and give their time and good vibes, just as Cavanaugh did for me. Please enjoy my social media sites and be sure to check out our website. You can make a donation, and soon be able to purchase β€œmerch”, or volunteer your time. You can also request assistance through confidential messages. Please join me, because I know you kare!
