🍎 Stuff the Bus was a HUGE success!

Today, we were proud to join fellow emergency service organizations at Applebee’s Bar + Grill in Manahawkin for their Stuff the Bus event!

This important community initiative helps provide much-needed school supplies to children in need as they head back to school. 100% of the donations collected will benefit our local schools, helping students start the new school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn. 📚✏️

A very special thank you to Executive General Manager Adam Bard and his incredible staff in making this event such a success. Your continued commitment to supporting our local schools and community truly makes a difference year after year! ❤️

🐾 Making appearances were our K9s Azula, Ellie, Rex, and Bear. We are especially proud of K9 Azula, who is sponsored by Applebee’s in Manahawkin. Azula’s handler is our Captain Chris Strunck, who is also an EMS member of Stafford Township, making this partnership an even more meaningful connection within our emergency services community.

When agencies join forces and work together things happen. Today, several agencies had a common goal, to find a young lady and bring her home safe. New Jersey State Police, New Jersey State Park Police, Woodland Fire Co and our Dept did just that! A happy, safe ending in record time. Great work everyone!!!

As the sun sets, we prepare for a scenario of a real life emergency.

We encounter many situations where every second counts and nighttime can be our greatest challenge. Last night’s scenario challenged our team with high humidity, limited visibility and rough terrain along with the added difficulties of conducting a search after dark. These conditions tested our communication, decision-making, navigation, and K9 skills as we worked through a realistic mock emergency.

Joining us on scene was Perry Parks from Absolute Control Dog Training in Medford, who evaluated K9 Bear and our team throughout the scenario. We are incredibly grateful for Perry’s expertise, experience, and willingness to share his knowledge. His insight helps challenge us, identify areas for improvement, and ultimately make us a stronger and more effective department.

Closing the night, our incredible HRD team continued training with K9s Sadie, Ellie, and Ginny, putting in the work to sharpen their skills for the missions ahead.

Tonight we had the pleasure of meeting
K9 Bodhi 🐾 He is an amazing therapy dog and is currently in training for narcotics at ACDT.

We were greeted by his sweet face, he is such a beautiful pup! ♥️

Tonight, we had CPR Class for new members and recert for others. Always keeping members current.

We’re proud to continue building strong partnerships with our fellow agencies and professionals throughout South Jersey

We were once again fortunate to have Perry Parks from ACDT in Medford to assess our dogs in training today. We trust his expertise, experience, and professional evaluation in strengthening the skills of both our K9s and handlers.

W proudly are working with K9 Nina from the Burlington County Sheriff’s department. We look forward to developing and strengthening their search and rescue skills through effective, hands-on training, and prepare them and their handlers to be ready for the call.

Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company’s Fire Prevention open house is schedule for Sunday October 4, 2026 from 1pm-5pm. Meet your volunteer firefighters, handouts, games, demonstrations, antique fire trucks, touch-a truck, food, mascots and so much more!!

Fire Prevention is about so much more than an open house and visiting schools!!

Fire Prevention Week commemorates the tragic Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) since 1922, it became a national presidential observance in 1925, making it the longest-running public health observance in the United States

Origins and the Great Chicago Fire.

The Great Chicago Fire started on October 8, 1871, but did most of its damage on October 9. The massive blaze killed over 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, and destroyed 17,400 structures. The Fire Marshals Association of North America first promoted a commemorative Fire Prevention Day on the 40th anniversary in 1911

K9 Training was very busy on Sunday.

Several visitors came out, first- The Gaskill Family came to receive their Fire-Pit they won during our Donation Giveaway.

We had Perry Parks come out from ACDT in Medford to assess some of the K9’s. Perry has been a huge supporter and an outstanding help when it comes to training our K9’s. Great to have another set of professional eyes on us.

Then we are working and training with some of the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department K9 Handlers.

We are happy to work with other agencies, as we all work together in the community during emergency situations.

Building good working relationships and ensuring- trust - is key. Makes every mission that more successful- and that is our end goal!

This family has been long time supporters of our K9 dept. We truly thank them for coming out and being a part of our K9 training yesterday! We love educating people on what we do. 🐾🇺🇸🐾
