The REC Foundation

The REC Foundation The REC Foundation is made up of central Louisiana residents.

Each of the members of our organization has significant ties to individuals with disabilities and hopes to bring an increased understanding of services available to those in our community. REC'S mission is to provide a safe, enriching, and healthy environment for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to gather while their caregivers have time for themselves.

During the giving season, we have partnered with Share Cenla to make it easy and convenient to support our cause. The community’s response has been truly inspiring, and we are excited to continue growing toward our goal of creating an inclusive, supportive, and advocacy-centered space for individuals with special needs to enjoy. Your assistance is needed not only through donations but by simply sharing our message. Please like and share this post. Follow our page for updates.

At this time, we are meeting once a month with intellectually and physically challenged individuals at different businesses in the community.

Boo I’m the Mou was so much fun! Adrian enjoyed passing out candy and slap bracelets. You can see her in the blue costume. REC would like to thank Kim and Tawana for letting us set up in front of the Mou Latte and Adrian L. Aymond and Brandy Vidrine for their donation of candy, bracelets, and other trinkets that the children loved. Last but not least thank you Stacie for helping me set up and handing out treats. It was so nice to see so many people I hadn’t seen in a long time. It was all treats with no tricks!!! Lol

Pictures from our first black pot cook off and poker run! It was so much fun! I saw people I hadn’t seen in years and met new friends. The red car came from Arkansas to join the fun. We had talked to them on KVPI. Trisha, owner of Fred’s, and KVPI got together and had Neili and I go to get the word out. Thank you to Victoria Granger for allowing us to use some of her pictures.

The RECfoundation is so thankful to Trisha, Christian, and Neili for hosting the black pot contest and the poker run this past Saturday. We are also thankful for Ms Kim, Mayor Leisa D., and sheriff Guillory for the prize donations for the Cook-off. I am still amazed and thankful for everyone who participated in the events, bought shirts, made donations, and bought tickets for split the pot and the food. Ms Logan thank you for donating your winnings back to us. That was so sweet. Mr. Mike thank you for announcing what we were doing. KVPI thank you for having us as your guest. The people who hosted the poker run people at your place of business thank you so much! Last but not least, thank you to the Verette women for there help along with Brandy V. and Lisa F. I apologize if I missed anyone. Again, your generosity has gotten us a little closer to buying a building. Until then, keep checking for more events. Those with physical or intellectual needs we try to meet once a month so look for the type of event and register if you are interested. We will continue this method until we have a building.
I will post pictures of the cook off and poker run soon.

🍁🍎 Happy Fall from REC Foundation! 🍎🍁

As the leaves change and the air turns crisp, we’re reminded of the beauty of growth, change, and new beginnings. Just like autumn teaches us to embrace transformation, REC Foundation continues to nurture, support, and inspire our community every step of the way.

This season, let’s celebrate kindness, togetherness, and giving back. 🍂💛

✨ “Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.” ✨
