The Drug Exists. The Children Are Waiting.

Children with GABAAR genetic disorders suffer from severe epilepsy, developmental delay, loss of speech, loss of movement, and constant seizures. Many are losing skills every day.

But there is hope.
A potential therapy already exists and it is working in early research.

Now we must finish testing it so it can reach our children.

This video is part of the CURE GABA-A 2-2-2 Challenge:

Donate $2.22 • $22 • $222 • $2,222

We have already:

Developed the drug
Licensed genetically modified mouse models
Begun preclinical testing (as of 02.2026)

Now we need community support to complete testing and move toward FDA approval.

This is not hypothetical.
Children are waiting.
The science is real.
Time matters.

CURE GABA-A New Publication Alert GABRB2 & GABRB3

This publication exists because families shared their real-world experiences

Huge recognition to Dr. Sebastian Ortiz, Dr. Rikke S. Møller, and an incredible global team who studied 117 individuals with GABRB2 & GABRB3 variants, examining seizure onset, variant type, motor development, cognition, and outcomes.

Key findings:
• Gain-of-function variants → earlier seizure onset & greater motor challenges
• Earlier seizure onset predicts more severe motor outcomes
• Seizure onset can now guide early clinical decision-making

This is so important for our families and physicians it allows them to plan earlier therapies, mobility supports, and care before long-term outcomes are known.

Many families in our community contributed data through CURE GABA-A.

Your timelines. Your milestones. Your lived experience.

Publications like this shape clinical care worldwide.

Without them, rare diseases remain misunderstood.

Your voice is importantly. Your story is important and your data matters is important. This is why you share it!

CURE GABA-A | LP352 small-molecule clinical trial

(not funded by CURE GABA-A)

We wanted to share an update with our community after recently speaking with representatives from Lundbeck and information about LP352, an investigational drug currently being studied for developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs).

Lundbeck is planning a webinar to discuss this further. The date will be announced soon.

LP352 is a small-molecule therapy originally developed by Longboard Pharmaceuticals and is now being advanced by Lundbeck following their acquisition. It is being evaluated in a placebo-controlled clinical trial for DEEs, including conditions such as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. While this study is not specific to GABAARs, it is broadly focused on DEEs.

We appreciated the opportunity to learn directly from the Lundbeck team about the science behind LP352 and how families can access accurate information.

We can also share that one member of our patient community has been using LP352 with promising results.

As always, we strongly encourage families to talk with their neurologist or medical care team before considering any clinical study or treatment option. Your doctor is the best resource to help you decide what may be appropriate for your loved one.

If you’d like to learn more about the study, you can search NCT06719141 on ClinicalTrials.gov, email [email protected], or call (855) 628-2977.

We’re grateful for open conversations like these and for Lundbeck’s continued support of our community, including their sponsorship of our 2025 European Conference in Lisbon.

More updates coming soon.

CURE GABA-A | Running for Raina and CURE GABA-A

Our amazing CURE GABA-A community member Brian () has been racing Ironmans and marathons with one powerful purpose: raising awareness and funds to help bin awareness and funds to our community.

Right now, he’s entered in a contest for an Ironman Texas entry, and we need to rally behind him!

👉 Please search for , find his comment, LIKE it, and leave a supportive reply.

Your engagement truly matters and helps push his story to the top.

Brian runs every mile for families facing drug-resistant epilepsy in our community. His races help fuel the upcoming GRANN PHARMACEUTICALS mRNA projects we have in the pipeline and bring hope to children. He is out there pounding the pavement for ALL of us.

Let’s show him the strength of the CURE GABA-A community 💪

And if you’re a runner (or want to be!), please reach out to learn how you can join our growing running community and help turn your miles into impact.

Thank you for helping us lift up one incredible dad, advocate, and athlete who is fighting for our kids every step of the way!
