As we enter the final weeks of the 2025–2026 school year, we are reflecting on the many ways youth and adults across communities are working together to reimagine and transform education.

The revived Power² Summit offered a powerful reminder of what authentic youth-adult partnership makes possible:
“UP is truly making a difference in the lives and education of these young people.”
“I learned that your voice has power…”
“I learned community is a major part of change.”

These reflections reinforce both the impact of this work and the urgency of continuing to build educational systems where all young people can thrive. Check out the day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9dFbYFshpA

📣 We invite EVERYONE to complete our 5-minute “Visions for the Future of Education” survey and help shape what comes next. https://forms.gle/PX99paYqAAU4H1CXA

Thank you for being part of this work and this community.

“There is no power greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” (Margaret Wheatley) That is the magic that happened with the Mt Abraham Unified School District last night at their community engagement event. People came together to share food, hear about the work of the youth-adult Portrait of a Learner school teams, and sit in circles together to discuss the hard questions facing this community regarding the future of their education system. 💫

The Mt. Abraham Unified School District has worked this year to bring their Portrait of a Learner from “poster to practice”. Each of the five schools have their own Portrait of a Learner youth-adult team that has used YPAR to determine the specific needs and focus areas for their school communities. This week each school team shared their success and next steps with one another and looked for feedback on areas to “glow” and “grow”. The group also spent time practicing for the school board’s community engagement event by using a circle process to ensure that all community members can share and listen to one another as they tackle hard questions about the future possibilities for MAUSD. 💫
