Our Child Passenger Technicians are hosting a FREE Car Seat event Friday, May 8th, from 11am to 1pm at Christian Assembly of God located at 175 Port Watson Street, Cortland, NY 13045. Child Passenger Technicians will be available to check a child’s seat for proper installation, harnessing and the overall safety of the seat. If you have questions or concerns about the correct use of your child safety seats, our Child Passenger Technicians are here to help!

It is important to use the right car seat correctly every time your child is in the car. That is why you should always refer to your specific car seat manufacturer’s instructions and read the vehicle owner’s manual on how to install the car seat correctly.

As National Home Visiting Week comes to a close, we’re ending with gratitude. Thank you to our Early Childhood Department home visitors for the relational, consistent work you do with families. Thank you supervisors, partners, and community organizations who support families every day. Thank you to families who welcome this work into their lives.
Thank you to everyone who cares for families, builds trust, and helps communities thrive.

Today our Early Childhood Development program staff are celebrating "Decades Day!" Healthy Families program staff was also inspired by the plans of Early Head Start staff to display artwork and worked during home visits to create spring inspired hand/footprint art which is on display in the window of our office.

In 2025, our Healthy Families Staff partnered with 39 families and supported 77 children. In a recent survey, one parent shared, "Honestly, I think you guys are amazing. I feel really good knowing I have a support team." Today, our team, which includes Melissa, our agency's spring Intern, is celebrating Earth Day!

We appreciate the compassionate care you show families every day!

We’re kicking off , thanks to the Institute for Family Support Professionals. This week, we celebrate the important work of home visitors everywhere and at CAPCO's Early Childhood Department, which includes Healthy Families, Head Start/Early Head Start, and UPK. The department serves all of Cortland County. Stay tuned for more spotlights throughout the week!

March is National Reading Month. Thanks to the continued generous donation of Little Learner Library bundles from Rural Health Institute of New York, we have been able to provide families with books to read to their children during home visits.
