The group was created by the Township board of Trustees by resolution recognizing the need to use the volunteerism and philanthropy of residents and businesses to further the quality of life in the township via parks.

After two days of gross hot and stormy weather, today's Volunteer Session was just perfection! The shade of the forest and the cool breeze made this a fantastic time to gather with Friends and clear some trails. Pulling the Round-leaf bittersweet out by the roots was MUCH easier because of the soaking we got last night (and pulling is more effective than just cutting anyway) We'll be back Friday June 26th at 10am to keep going, and to prep the Gazebo for In The Grey - Oshtemo Music in the Park!

Yoga can be a great way to learn how to breathe through a challenge and increase your flexibility. June 21 is International Day of Yoga, but all month long you can join a community Yoga class in Oshtemo!

KP Fitness (an official "Park Partner") offers Yoga in the Park at Flesher Field most Sundays through the summer. In June that's the 7th, 14th, and 21st. (Sunday June 28th is our first Oshtemo Music in the Park concert with In The Grey!)

Volunteer-led Weekly Chair Yoga and Weekly Beginner's Mat Yoga @ Oshtemo Community Center are Wednesdays at 1pm and 6pm respectively, year-round!

The Oshtemo Branch of the Kalamazoo Public Library is having Yoga on the Lawn, led by Move with Joy Saturday June 13th from 3:00 - 4:00

Anyone is welcome to bring a mat out to an Oshtemo Township Park anytime they are open, find some shade out of the way, and do your own practice. A park is a great place to get grounded.
