Please join us in congratulating Sherri Harris Allgood, Executive Director of Sandhills Cooperation Association, on her selection to the Sandhills Rural Action Network Leadership Council for July 2026–June 2027!

This recognition celebrates Sherri’s continued commitment to rural leadership, community development, civic engagement, and equitable opportunities throughout the Sandhills.

Sherri is also a member of the 2026 Better NC Fellowship, a six-month program that helps North Carolina leaders better understand state and local budgets and advocate for community priorities. She plans to use this experience to help residents understand how public funding decisions affect their daily lives, train community leaders in budget advocacy, and strengthen SCA’s Engineer of Community Development curriculum.

We are proud of Sherri and the leadership she continues to provide across rural North Carolina. Congratulations, Sherri!

Community voices belong at the table.

Sandhills Cooperation Association was honored to attend the Governor’s Advisory Committee for a Stronger NC Listening Session. Executive Director Sherri Harris Allgood and Community Project Manager Cindy Flowers Taylor joined community leaders and residents to listen, connect, and take part in meaningful conversations about the needs, challenges, and opportunities within our communities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with others, hear diverse perspectives, and contribute to conversations focused on building a stronger North Carolina for all.

As we close the final chapter of the 2026 Summer The Love Academy, the Sandhills Cooperation Association is overwhelmed with gratitude. Over the past six weeks, we have watched our youth EMERGE from potential to impact, rising beyond limitations to become the leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

This transformation would not have been possible without the incredible 'interconnected' support of our community. We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who invested in our LOVE Agents:

Our Lead Partners & Sponsors:
-David Lowery & Carolina Complete: For your steadfast commitment to our mission.
-Support Inc. (Rhonisha Lassiter & Team): For the bookbags, supplies, and high-energy games that kept our kids prepared and active.
-Sandhills Ag: For providing vital food boxes to our families throughout the summer.
-It's Allgood Grill: For fueling our celebration with delicious food.
-Stanly County Schools: For providing breakfast and lunch every day for our participants through the Summer Foods Program

Our Educational & Business Partners:
-Randolph Community College SBC (Quinton Louris): For bringing the Entrepreneur Mobile Truck and sparking innovation.
-Montgomery Community College SBC (Sara Holden): For sharing your expertise and inspiring our future CEOs.
-Montgomery County Cooperative Extension (Rhonda Peters): For teaching our youth the importance of health, hygiene, and wellness.

Our Local Leaders:
A special thank you to Interim Superintendent Wade Auman and Assistant Superintendent Jack Cagle of Montgomery County Schools for your presence and support of our youth’s educational journey.

Our Guest Speakers & Mentors:
-Gerard Morrison, for your insights into Agri-Business, and all the mentors who guided our participants through their 'chrysalis' stage.
-Jackie Harris for your dedication to improving the lives of our young boys and men.

The Ultimate Success:
We are thrilled to announce that our Youth Entrepreneur Fair was a total SELL OUT! This is a testament to the hard work of our participants and the incredible support of the Troy community.

To the families, volunteers, and staff who showed up every day—you are the wings that allowed these butterflies to take flight. Together, we have built a foundation for sustained contribution and global impact.

Thank you for believing in our youth. We can’t wait to see how they continue to EMERGE!
