The City of Columbia Government, Columbia Green, and Gills Creek Watershed Association invite you to participate in an exciting new project to rehabilitate lots in the Historic Trenholm-Buchanan Neighborhood condemned after the 2015 flood and transform them into a neighborhood greenspace.

Step one? REMOVE THE INVASIVE PLANTS infesting the property!

Please join us as we launch this new initiative with a Neighborhood Greenspace Cleanup 🌳on World Environment Day. Together, we’ll clear out invasive plants and litter to make way for a gorgeous new neighborhood greenspace. Pitch in and sneak a peek at the plans for this grassroots community project.

A huge thank you to our watershed neighbors who reached out to us and City of Columbia Water early this morning after noticing unusual cloudiness and higher flow in Little Jackson Creek! 👏💧

Thanks to your observant eyes and fast reporting, the City was able to investigate and trace the issue back to a water main break. They are on it, and we are hoping to see the break repaired very soon.

This is exactly what keeping an eye on our watershed looks like. When our community speaks up, we can protect our waterways together!

(The observation was made behind Columbia Northeast Shopping Center off Two Notch Road.)
