Youth mental and behavioral health in Spartanburg County reflect national trends, with female and Latinx students experiencing disproportionate impacts.

That’s why the work of VITAL Spartanburg matters. By building a community action plan focused on real action and coordination, VITAL is working to strengthen support, reduce stigma, and improve mental health outcomes for Spartanburg.

Strategic Spartanburg has a huge announcement! Our organization has joined the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership (NNIP) network.

As NNIP network members, our organization has access to a national network coordinated by the Urban Institute that helps communities use local data to shape policy, guide investment, and strengthen neighborhoods.

As South Carolina’s first NNIP partner, this milestone places Spartanburg in a national community of local data organizations working to make information more accessible, actionable, and community-centered.

For Strategic Spartanburg, this is both a recognition of the work already happening through the Community Indicators Project and a new opportunity to bring national learning, tools, and partnerships back home.
