Come to downtown Maiden this Saturday morning from 8 am-11 am where the Maiden Sportsmen Club will be collecting donations for our annual back-to-school fundraiser. All proceeds go to Maiden area schools. Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

The Maiden Sportsmen Club presented the Thomas and Barbara Brown Scholarship at Maiden High School's Award Day. This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding scholar athlete.

This year, two recipients received $2500 scholarships.

First recipient was Camdyn Strait, daughter of Natalie and Scott Strait of Maiden. Camdyn plans to attend Lenoir Rhyne University and study nursing.

Second recipient was Hampton Reed, son of Audra and Luke Reed of Newton. Hampton plans to attend Catawba College and study Business and Marketing. He plans to play football.

The Maiden Sportsmen Club presented the Jeff and Patricia Siegfried Scholarship at Maiden High School's Award Day. The Siegfried Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding senior planning to study engineering or construction. The winner receives a $2000 scholarship.

This year there were two scholarship winners:

First recipient is Neeley Campbell, daughter of Tate and Natalie Campbell of Newton. Neeley plans to attend Maine Maritime Academy and study Power Engineering with a minor in Nuclear Engineering and work on jet engines in the Maine Air National Guard. She also plans to play basketball.

Second recipient is Collin Ladd, son of Miranda and Yancey Patel of Newton. Collin plans to attend UNC-C and study Civil Engineering.

Our annual Reverse Raffle Fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to Glen Oaks Golf Club Inc for the beautiful facilities, the Maiden High School Culinary Program for the delicious meal, Wayne Taylor for sharing his incredible talents, our members for your hard work, and most of all thank you to everyone in our community for your generosity and support! Congratulations to all the winners!
