Garlic Mustard "B" Gone β€” It sounds like a gourmet condiment, but it's really an invasive w**d that's trying to take over our neighborhoods and crowd out native plants. With spring around the corner, it's time to start watching out for and pulling nonnative garlic mustard. An opportunity to contribute to Safe Routes to School planning. Sign up to get involved!

We are looking for community members, parents, students, and organizations who would like to participate in the SRTS new planning committee! πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ
The Mahtomedi Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Committee applied for several grant opportunities this past winter with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The mission of this committee is to create a better walkable and bikeable community. We are pleased to announce Mahtomedi Schools was awarded a Safe Routes to School Planning Assistance grant for the creation of a new Multi-school SRTS Plan.

We are looking for community members, parents, students, and organizations who would like to participate in the new planning committee, which will begin work this summer through spring 2023 in the development of this new SRTS plan.

Opportunity to apply for funding to create a more pollinator-friendly yard!

Bee part of the change! The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources is again accepting applications for the grant program. This program supports Minnesotans to create pollinator habitat in their yards. These cost-share grants are for up to $300. Apply through Blue Thumb:

Household Hazardous Waste, E- Waste Collection May 1 in Mahtomedi

Want to safely dispose of old paint, used oil, cleaning and yard chemicals, along with electronics like TVs, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, and computers? Washington County is sponsoring a free collection of these and other leftovers that can't go in the regular trash on Saturday, May 1, 8 am to 2 pm. Bring these items plus up to four boxes of shreddable documents to the Mahtomedi Middle School / High School entrance and follow the signs. Open to Ramsey and Anoka County residents too. Review county recommendations for Hwy 12/Wildwood Road from Century Avenue in the west to Stillwater Road in the east. Proposed changes include a new stoplight at Wedgewood Drive, new pedestrian islands at multiple crossings, wider shoulders across Lost Lake to accommodate on-road walkers and bikers, two stormwater treatment ponds to hold run-off, and a larger culvert for the east side of Lost Lake, near Wildwood Park.
