What an unexpected turn out for our DV Proclamation! We would like to thank Director Kelli Souter of the Economic Development Department for reading the Proclamation on behalf of the Mayor. We also wanted to thank our board members Kimberly Jones, Emilie Vest, and Adrienne Rushing for showing up and showing out with us, as well as the Leadership Magnolia team for showing their support. What a wonderful group of people to help represent our cause. We will see you all next October!

The Compassion's Foundation will be speaking live this Thursday at 8:30 a.m. to address the upcoming Domestic Violence Proclamation taking place the same day at 11:30 outside the courthouse. Tune in to hear about the proclamation, a little about 2025's domestic violence statistics, and ways you can help both us and survivors.

Today is . Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness, and the majority of victims and survivors identify “access to money” as a barrier to leaving an abuser.

No survivor should ever be forced to stay with an abusive partner just to keep a roof over their head. But every day across the country, local programs and shelters are forced to turn away thousands of survivors in need, because they simply don't have the money, space, or resources to help them all.

Whether we realize it or not, impacted by these challenges. We all deserve to live in safe, well-resourced communities, and victims and their children deserve to know that help will always be available if they need it.
