Such a heartbreaking case...and so many questions unanswered.
What tomorrow will bring is unclear, so please remember them tonight. Say their names, tell their stories, and show kindness and love in memory of them.
Before they were known as victims, they were simply who they were.
Cortney was a 37-year-old mother of four and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren. A look online shows that they loved her as well. She had been recently dealing with the loss of her own mother.
Braydon was a 15-year-old son, grandson, brother, and uncle. He had an adorable smile. It is hard to believe that just five years ago, he was a fourth-grader being honored for his good grades and behavior. He was still just a kid.
Adrianna was just 20 years old, and Matthew was just 21 years old. They were proud parents of their baby girl and made it a point to continuously document her life, thankfully, because of this, she will have videos to remind her how much they loved her. They were still so young, yet they were dedicated to each other, their families, and most of all their baby. Matt worked, and Adrianna cared for the little one while they were building their future.
In the near future, and possibly even tomorrow, you may hear things about them that might raise your eyebrows; these things may or may not be true, and they are no longer here to ask. They won't be there to provide denials or elaborate explanations. Whatever may be said or claimed will not justify the punishment they received.
All four lived, loved, hurt, and dreamed; they were human, and we will never know what the future would have held for them.
Tonight, regardless of what you believe or where you stand, take a moment for them.
