Expect to see trucks and equipment on the KVT (Kennebec Valley Trail) today, (Thursday, May 28) working on the trail.

Anticipate brief delays.

Yield to all equipment and trucks. Make eye contact with drivers and equipment, and wait for them to signal for you to pass!

Lights ON for safety, PLEASE!
In these cases, your lights aren't on so you can see, they're on so YOU CAN BE SEEN!

EDITED, see below: This can happen anywhere folks. Permission granted by the select board can be rescinded at any time, for any reason (or no reason) per our agreements with the Towns of Madison and Anson.

Remember that a thousand ATVers could roll though and no one will pay attention, but one or two idiots can ruin it for everyone. I haven't researched the back story on what happened in Denmark, but there's decent odds that someone messed up.

EDIT:
Upon further review, it seems the local club has been disbanded. Not sure why. This often comes about from lack of active support at the management level. People don't want a title and don't want to get involved.

Fun fact: most towns will not allow ATV Access Routes if there's not an active ATV club in the area. Club goes away=access routes go away!

Please support a club! Not even necessarily our club, just support a club! More than one if you can justify!

See below Public Notice regarding ATV Public Access Roads.

Disclaimer: standing, bent over a plastic table with a pen and a clipboard probably wasn't the ideal writing posture. Consequently, Ms Wendy and I struggled with the penmanship on a couple forms. If we butchered names, please know we did the best we could with what we had to work with. Let us know if corrections are in order, please! 🙂

Thank you to our business sponsors who helped support our trailside fundraiser this weekend!

Bob's Cash Fuel who donated propane for cooking.

Reny's- Madison who donated a gift card.

Evergreens campground who donated ice.

K Tronics who donated cash to cover the raffle items.

And once again, thank you to the club members that volunteered their time to pull this off.

We're already having discussions about the next one! What did we learn from this one, and what can we do better?

That's a wrap! Still processing it all!

Great big thank yous to all the help at the event today, you guys kicked butt! We had riders stacked up 30 and 40 deep a few times!

Several trips for more food and supplies, but we got it done, and how!

Thank you Hazel, Donna, Gary, Vicki, Darrell, Kim, and Wendy!

Major shout out also, to VP Alfie, and his better half Shannon, you guys absolutely knocked it out of the park with the cooking!

Thank you to all the riders that came by. We got a couple dozen new members, and nearly sold out of club bling! Saw some old friends and made some new ones. Everyone was wonderful: pleasant and patient.

This was a first time effort for us. We learned some things. We'll do a couple things differently next time. Get the food and coffee started earlier, for one. Paul says he's ready and raring to go to do breakfast sandwiches next time, and I think we're going to hold him to it! 🙂

Thank you also to our 50/50 raffle winner Linda Miller, who donated her winnings back to the Sunshine fund!
