Congrats to Beyond Plastics Madison for finishing it's first year, and thank you to everyone who came our potluck tonight. We celebrated all we accomplished this year and looked forward to our many goals for 2026.

This grassroots movement is full of passionate and caring people. Congrats to those who won door prizes, including a gift card donated by .

This group is for those who want to fight for our environment and human health, and values education in the face of corporate greed. We know lives get busy, but simply following us and sharing helps so much!!!

Why is there more and more plastic these days?

Plastic products are made from petroleum. The petrochemical companies are realizing drastic drops in petroleum products for vehicles and heating due to the growing use of electric vehicles and other renewable energy options. With this, they are shifting their focus to push more plastic production to maintain their profits. This effort has been very successful in bringing plastics into packaging and products that are not necessary at all.
