The Platform: Wednesday, October 7th at Madison Community Arts Center

The Platform is free monthly writing workshop & open mic series. From first time readers to published poets & authors, all are welcome! Each reader will be allotted 3-5 minutes on the mic, depending on the number of sign-ups.

7:00pm Ekphrastic Writing Workshop:
8:00pm Open Mic
Hosted by Paul Rabinowitz

Join Paul for the opening of his photo exhibition, “Poems Not Yet Written” before the workshop. Doors open at 5:30pm.

While each photograph captures a single moment, it also leaves space for the viewer to imagine what came before and what might follow. These photographs are invitations to pause, observe, and find meaning in quiet moments of human connection. Next to the display, you will find a small journal and pen. As you view the exhibit, we encourage you to use a single photo—or the entire series—as inspiration for your own poem.

We had a lot of fun this weekend despite the weather!

If you came to the sold out comedy show with Jonathan van Halem and David Drake then you know how great his NJ jokes were.

Film Society of Summit showed a documentary about the Eurasion eagle-owl that escaped from the Central Park zoo which was very interesting. They are showing another documentary film this Friday at 7:30pm called Knife: The attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie.

Stay tuned for the October schedule!
