Scouting for Food? No—Scouting for Sustainability!

Scouts from Troop 490 recently built a new compost bin for the Garden Club of Madison at Bauer Park in Madison, CT

The compost bin provides a convenient place for gardeners to recycle plant trimmings and other organic garden material, helping create nutrient-rich compost that can be returned to the soil. The project supports the educational gardens and promotes sustainable gardening practices.

By completing this service project, Troop 490 demonstrated a commitment to conservation, community service, and environmental stewardship while providing a lasting resource for the gardeners at Bauer Park.
